Yes that is true, that's why I said all countries parttaking in colonalization are guilty for what is happening now in the US. It wasn't really directed to you, it was more of a general statement. Because I see a lot of people on tumblr especially being really snobby about coming from the UK (also Canada).

DEATH! :rip: our country is a million miles from perfect idk what they're going on about in all honesty

Gurl I am white too and I don't feel like I'm lumped together with the trash. Because I know that I'm not personally addressed. I don't do that sh*t.

These blanket statements against white people does include us since we are white. It's the same thing as if I made a blanket statement against black people. I may just be addressing a minority of them, but if I don't properly specify who it is then I'm just being racist. Sorry if I'm not making sense.

For example, when Azealia speaks about corporate white America and **** I know she isn't talking about me but sometimes when she makes blanket statements it comes across as she is coming for all whites in America. It's just communication between races about racial issues that needs to be worked on. The animosity and blanket statements won't get us anywhere as a country let alone the world as a whole.

:lmao:

do you even know what Oreo means? It's a person of one colour who tries to act the other race. Usually a black person trying to act white. It's used as an insult, it's used to bully kids in high school who are trying to fit in.

Do you know why Shaniqua is funny? Because its a stereotypical black, ghetto, ratchet name. And black, ghetto, ratchet women are HILARIOUS lately.

'False info' please

Where I live, I cannot tell you how much I've been called a "coconut" (you know, brown on the outside. White on the inside. So yeah, the equivalent to what some would call an oreo). :wtf: It sucks because the only way I'll be considered black is if I drop to the floor, play a trap hop song, twerk, swear and live in the ghetto. :smh: The sheer racism of it all.

To you personally it may appear as "silly" but to a black women, it must hurt to have your attitude seen as "ratchet" but when a white gay person takes your culture and makes it their own, and then on top of that, are praised for being "fierce!".

I live in a gay neighborhood so I often see a bunch of gay men talk like that and even though they aren't black women I still think they are ridiculous for pretending to be something they are not? It doesn't bother me though because that's their life and I couldn't care less if they wore a panties outside with stilettos and a pink wig.

Woha, okay, didn't think of this. I kind of agree with you. Thing is, who are we being seen fierce by? Other white gay men? Pop culture? Because the rest of the world treats "fierce" gay men like ****, even worst than they treat gay men who act "normal". I agree that media usually portrais white gay men who act "sassy" as something better than black women who do the same.

And I think we also have a problem with white gay men taking black women's representation as our own, as if we were the reason Beyoncé, Azealia Banks, etc. existed.

:( that's horrible. It's such a playful word, both coconut and Oreos could be cute little nicknames but I don't think people understand how cutting they are.

Yes, but you don't live alone in this world, you have to interact with people all the time.

Of course but if you're gonna let stuff like that bother you then you should either stand up and confront the person or just ignore instead of constantly whining and trying to raise awareness that isn't going to work.

Look I get what you're trying to say but you see, i, am a lesbean

Guys, we didn't even realise. Oscar has been spilling the tea the whole time. Because lesbeans are woman, and can be black, and are "gay", then they're the only ones who don't appropriate every culture because they are every culture. I am every icon teas. Oscar was right all along because he, is a lesbean.

I see where you are coming from, but when somebody from a minority makes a blanket statement about the majority it's quite a different sentiment from the majority making a blanket statement about the minority. The first one stems more from a place of frustration and not being able to live freely and happily, while the second one stems more from a place of being disgusted by a whole subset of people. I agree that both are quite problematic, but the latter is imo worse and not acceptable under any circumstances.

Thats why she said her opinion on what she thought/think about white men using her culture as a mockery. You cannot always confront people irl, and even less if there's more than one person doing something that you feel is wrong.

If everyone had that attitude, then yeah, it wouldn't work.
