The ignorance in this thread :lmao:

obviously you all think this cultural appropriation talk is irrelevant to you, and is far fetched, because you're the ones having fun with it. You're the ones at fault. Do I even have to bring up the whole coco Oreo shaniqua thread whatever the f*ck it was called...it's actually disgusting. And now you guys won't even listen to the other side of the story, because it's 'stupid and annoying'. Ok. :smh:

Actually this. That whole shtick is racists and promotes stereotypes and it is what you just said disgusting.

Not every gay/bis-xual man is like Laganja Estranja. :awkney:

Since black people suffer so much from stereotypes I'm disgusted every time they use them against us. I'm so over being lumped with conservative racist white America just because I share a ****ing skin color with them. :madge:

Do you remember that Oreo coco thread mess or nah :flop:

no. no. no. NO. :awkney: Nobody should try to appropriate anybodies culture. White Gay Men were specifically mentioned because they do it the most according to the writer.

Which she has no factual basis for that. Live and let live. :awkney:

I wasn't referring at everyone transforming into literally the same thing :awkney:  but really... I'm getting tired of this "x appropriated idk what culture" ... Especially of people like Azealia Banks who pretends to "fight for equality" by calling every white people racist yet she states that she "hates white American fat people" or something like that and that all "black men are taking women for granted " and since she started all the bull**** with Iggy Azalea by stating that she was racist by scrolling through her ancient tweets and keep saying that she's appropriating black culture , everyone started acting like Social Justice Warriors...idk , at least , that's my point of view and this annoys me the most ...like everyone starting to accuse everyone for appropriating black culture when some people simply admire black people / culture but who cares...it's fun to act like Justice warriors :awkney:

That's your opinion, and that's fine. Also, I know you weren't referring to that. I was talking in a hypothetical to make a point, which I stated in my first post.

Having white male privilege feels so good when I'm scared to come out to my own family.

Nah sis... don't try that card. Having to come put to begin with makes you less privileged but being white and male gives you a lot more privilege in society than if you were a black, female transgender woman who is gay. Get what I mean?

Privilege doesn't necessarily mean everything is 100% perfect with you :smh: As a white male, you do have some privileges over a PoC and women too.

Yeah because Europe in general is completely oblivious about anything insensitive they do. If u ain't Dutch or are interested in cultural studies you probably have never heard about Zwarte Piet, the white sidekick of Santa Claus in black face that acts like a monkey.

Pretending like we are all that sophisticated and free in Europe when we are the root of the actual problem. I see UK people be like "oh the USA is so racist, our country is so much better" when the UK was the country that f*cking started enslaving black people and exploiting the entire world. Every country that participated in Colonalization is guilty of it. :awkney:

Yeah, it's so weird that in Europe, we seem to think having a "colour blind"/it's not there mentality actually really means the continent is free of racism :rip:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I, however, don't see how manierism is such a big deal. Humans adopting manierism from someone they admire is nature. However, there's a difference between stating "i have a black women inside of me" and screaming "YAAAS" "QUEEEN" and making a b---hface.

I want recipes on where this whole "sass" acting started though.

Let's not even pretend that you still don't gain things from white male privilege, bye.

I understand the issue with that. :flop:

I was just trying to point out that people these days are fighting stereotypes with stereotypes. Live and let live. There wouldn't be any of these issues if people were more secure in themselves.

There are similarities between gay culture and black culture, but to say that it's a bad thing is so wrong. Why can't we all just be who we are when we aren't hurting anyone?

People should worry about their own lives in my opinion. You're not gonna get far in life for being a sensitive dumb ass constantly looking for stuff to b---h about especially over really silly things like this.

Gurl I am white too and I don't feel like I'm lumped together with the trash. Because I know that I'm not personally addressed. I don't do that sh*t.

Here is my two cents in this matter:

Are white gays guilty of appropriating black women? Yes and no. Why? Because oroginally, black and Latino gays were the ones who "appropriated" black women, and eventually, there came a rise in ball culture which venerated many female celebrities, both white and black

White gays then started to latch on to how the black and Latino gays acted as it became a sort of identity for gay culture. Fast forward to now, and many gays, not just white and not just black, are emulating black women. Don't just blame white gays I say because if there are more at fault, don't subject one specific group which brings me to my next point

Why should it even matter? By instigating the notion that cultures should possess exclusivity, we are appropriating the notion that we are all not one and the same, that we are of different races and different sub species of Homo sapiens. That is the reason why America cannot have its populace become a nation united instead of a nation divided. The US is not this colorblind society it claims to be if it allows certain cultures practice exclusivity based on the color of one's skin

Okay I agree with paragraph 1 and 2 but in regards to three: Like Leo said, we are different and should acknowledge that so we have an identity. The thing is, when one starts to discriminate because someone is different, that's where the problem lies. But it's good to acknowledge people's differences as long as we accept each other regardless of our difference.

Black gays weren't appropriating black women, they share the same race & the same culture. :rip: also, put in mind that these black women are also their mothers, their sisters & their family, so having their personality's and the way they carry themselves influence them is no shock.
