Do I miss the success Gaga had in 2009? Not really. what I DO miss...

I feel she's given into aspects of fame just from how she acts a bit with social media like with asia (of course she's a person she's aloud to do so blah blah) and how she clings to Versace for dear life in whatever she wears to any event recently. I feel she's been assimilated in a sense it could also just be that she's less awkward than she was at the beginning which is what I liked about her. Just confidently arrogant at times instead of awkwardly smart. Rambling but yeah that's how I feel.

I dont like this statement. Clings to Versace for dear life? What do you even mean? Shes friends with Donatella. She opened up vaults for her and she could wear whatever she wanted. Who else gets that opportunity? Opportunities presented themselves and she took them because she loves fashion and clearly she loves Donatella. To say she clings to Versace for dear life is to say shes somehow desperately using Versace for validity and I don't think thats the case. Besides, she hasn't even worn Versace to events recently so idk what you're talking about there.

If you're someone who wants her to act that way again it's probably for nostalgic reasons or you're living vicariously through a powerful female. Maybe you need to adapt a fierce attitude/lifestyle of your own and you wouldn't long for your fave to act that way. I like the mysterious Gaga personally. I don't think she has ever been apologetic really, she is in a place now where she is very successful and effortlessly snatching attention at award shows/red carpets. She makes the other girls mad with a smile on her face.

I can say that I don’t miss anything, but I am glad it all happened. It’s brought her to the happy place that’s she’s at right now. Just like that post she made on her birthday about her evolution over the past five years and being proud of everything she’s done.

She’s on top of the world again but this time she’s in better control. So that in itself is fearlessness. She’s not been run through the meat grinder. Yeah I definitely like this Gaga more.

Gaga was never fearless, if you read all the online stuff in 2009-2010 there was d--gs, wait gain/loss, and many other issues and insecurities. Plus overworking to the point she collapsed on stage in NZ.

I noticed a drastic change in Early 2010 around the time she starting writing born this way and touring the monster ball 2.0. She started acting very maternal but she was still very interesting. Ever since the born this way era started it's like she changed but she was still enjoyable and promoted the hell out of the singles and she still had that joyous passion in her. I think the overall backlash of the born this way era, her not getting the singles she wanted out, marry the nights underperformance really took a toll on her self esteem, along with not winning any grammys in 2012 that it really made her somewhat insecure of her work. I became very worried for her around mid through end of 2012 when she started lip injections and botox along with bragging about smoking marijuana on twitter and getting into celebrity feuds on the internet. She also started acting immature but I think it was just out of anger from the depression she was facing. I feel bad for the poor girl because looking back at it now, she was depressed and insecure from 2012 - 2014. I sometimes say that if she would have never made born this way the album, she would have been more confident with her career now but the past is the past and there's no point in dwelling on something you cant change right? I noticed a positive change during the beginning of this year that everyone else can see too. The success of cheek to cheek has made her more confident and it seems like she's happier with her life now. I might even say this is the happiest we've seen her since 2010 and I think now that she's enjoying her life right now, this might fuel an amazing album. I'm very interested to see what she has in store for the next album since it seems like she is in a amazing place in life right now.

In certain respects, I think shes been more fearless this past year than she was back then. But "fearlessness" is not what this threads actually referring to imo, I think its what the op originally said which was her bravado. Which is a different ballpark.

I miss her fearlessness. I miss her being determined and WANTING to be #1 and the best...

The only thing is being claimed number one doesn't mean your work is the highest of quality or even of quality to begin with, or that you've ever worked for it the way someone like gaga has, so over the years as she's gonna smarter, I think she knows now not to care about that because it doesn't mean anything. So if you say it's naivety you miss them yes....

I miss her "not giving a ****" attitude, but I understand her. When you have so many people on your back, attacking you, leaving you, betraying you, you become insecure. But she still has some left in her. ;)

In the beginning Gaga was not relatable on a personal level. She was kind and caring and looked out for others, but her image and way she carried herself was not "human" - it was very much that of a "super star," which is what she was going for. She wanted to bring back the Pop Star. The star that people wanted to obsess over, the person that provided a fantasy- remember how she refused to drink water on stage because she didn't want people to see her doing natural things like that?

As time went on she became more "human" to us and to others. She wanted to be taken more seriously.
Hell, she's getting older. She probably didn't want her heart, passion, and talent to continue to be overshadowed by her (genuinely done) satire of Fame culture.

I certainly miss the Gaga from the early days. I miss her because she created a fantasy that was fascinating and left me wanting to dig for more.
But I also love the Gaga we have nowadays who is an incredible woman with a voice as great as her heart.
It'd be great if she could blend the two to give us the best of both worlds, but I think constantly shaping how the world sees you (and making music, planning tours, being involved with other businesses, having your own foundation, etc. etc.) is a hard enough job as it is.
