I hate the whole vibe of TIDAL ... it's as if they are trying to convince us that WE owe THEM something

if you wanna listen to their music, yes you should pay. if you steal, you DO owe them their money. what's so hard to understand? you don't go steal a painting, do you?

then don't ****ing get tidal, it's as easy as that. buy the albums you DO want. But you can put your songs on offline mode so you don't need internet to listen to the songs.

Do you have a netflix account? if you do, why don't you have a problem paying for movies and shows you don't even own?

Dude I come to this forum to talk about events in pop culture and this is a big one right now. I think I'm allowed to give my opinion without people barking at me "just dont ****ing get it then blah blah blah." I don't yell at you for your opinion so go bother someone else?

Besides yes I do have a netflix account. Why dont I have a problem paying for movies and shows I don't own? Because movies are hours long and shows half hours long. A plotline is not as easy to reconsume over and over again as a song is. When I walk to class, go smoke outside, hang out in my room while doing homework I listen to music. Even if I can listen to the songs on offline mode I still would rather have ownership over them for the prices I'm going to pay. I am a potential customer, a music consumer and that's the market Tidal is aiming for right now. Just because my response is that I don't think it's worth my money doesn't mean you need to jump on me for it :scar:

Loads of people pay for Spotify premium; loads of people buy lots of albums - there's no difference to tidal and this. It's only "less economical" if you don't have a wide taste in music and like only Gaga for example.

The fool is the person who thinks paying for music is stupid and if you're in the category of people who don't pay for their music; then tidal isn't aiming to attract you.

Even if you pay for an mp3 download; you don't actually legally "have ownership" over it. But your previous post was pretty well balanced so I don't know why you were singled out tbh

Sorry, maybe my stream wasn't working well but I don't think I can remember any upcoming-new-not known- not multimillionary artist on that event or signing to have a part of the company benefits. My mistake.

I am the person who buys lots of albums, has a spotify premium account, attends to concerts and is a part of the people who has given and still give them the luxurious life they have now. Poor them, with their private planes, big mansions and more money than we will earn in our whole lifes... I don't know how they can survive :(

But the platform has the music of all those "non-millionaire" artists too; so they are benefiting - the press release involved simply the "owners" as they put them. We don't really know what was on the 'declaration' and realistically it was nothing more than a publicity stunt to bulk out an incredibly boring press event.

There's definitely some odd misconception going around GGD that Tidal is only going to have the music of those 18 or whatever artists. :spin:

You know what I meant, like I made a transcation for that album specifically not a whole catalogue of music.

I don't get why i was singled out either, or why the guy still hasn't apologized to me lol. People on here always wanna be the person that exposes someone else.. But they don't realize how pathetic they make themselves look when they attack people for no reason.

Spotify has 60 million users is the US. Only 15 million are paying subscribers. That leaves 45 million users that essentially get their music for free. Yes, they have to put up with ads...just like commercials on network TV (which is free in the US), but they aren't paying a monthly subscription.

At this time, Spotify would be a comparable option for one-fourth of the Spotify users. Maybe that is who Tidal is aiming for. Then, they will have to convince people that Tidal is better than Spotify in some way. I don't think offering some artists' "exclusives" is going to be the thing that convinces people to abandon what they are used to and spend the time and effort to change over.

I am not talking about the very small number of people in music actually making money. I am talking about the ones who aren't.

And just because someone is filthy rich doesn't mean they should work for free
