All of this is bull****. If they genuinely cared about the quality of their tracks being listened to, their fans and actually making more money back for their label, they would have their discographies on HDTracks.

All of this is just a clumsy scheme in getting people to subscribe to something they don't need, no matter how they try to cover up their intentions. The people profiting off this will be the share holders and artist's labels... not the artists themselves.

Wasn't that Born This Way's promo tagline? Don't come for ALL of these artists who all do amazing charitable work outside their careers when thousands of people have questioned Gaga's support of the LGBTQ community and other causes. I don't, but posts like yours are the reason why no one likes this damn fanbase. Foolishness.

I'm not coming for them!! And this has nothing to do with the BTW album!

If they want to create music that makes the world a better place I'm all for it. I support all of their charitable endeavours.... but this is not one of them. This is a business opportunity that their egos are branding as a revolutionary idea that will change the world.

I'm afraid, my friend, you are the one who has been fooled.

What is the correlation between using those words in promotion of BTW an album which actually did have impact on people's lives and using those same words to promote a streaming service? :duck:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

This is about as historical a movement as the ARTPOP app.

A bunch of millionaires pretending to change the game.

omg this comment default_air.jpg

" These celebrities sound like the most delusional self important out of touch egotistical moronic morons on the face of the planet. It's not a revolution, it's not going to make the world a better place, it's AN APP. Get over yourselves."

I'm done, I ain't even gonna come for you all anymore. Please read the OP and all of my others posts on why this is actually A GOOD THING for artists, including Lady Gaga, who will see much more profit from her streams if Tidal becomes a success.

Thank you everyone, goodnight, hope someone at least appreciates my constant updating today. Just very excited about this, but some of you don't even deserve to listen to HiFi music to be honest. Ungrateful as hell. Watch 144p videos on YouTube instead.

The fact that this is the FIRST streaming platform curated by artists, that actually brings more creative control to them, more profit and more oxygen to the record industry in general. It is also the first music streaming service that combines the best high fidelity sound quality, high definition music videos and expertly curated editorial content.

It's "brave" because no one in the tech or music industry backed a similar idea before. Watch the video an listen to Jay Z's words. "How come this hasn't happened yet". It was time for labels and artists to take back control of their work over streaming companies like Spotify.

This is the first time you've quoted me?

Still, there's far more practical services available that offer extremely high quality music that also allows the buyer to actually own the music they're paying for. Tidal is the new Beats, you're chucking money at something being done better by someone else.

That is one heck of a nonsensical reach :rip: But at least you explained yourself, why you considered it "brave". Though, I am still not sure of what that has to do with Gaga's LGBT contributions which you somehow dragged in here :toofunny:

Maybe Gaga used those words because they were actually related to the themes of the songs. An app that let's you stream music and videos has nothing to do with those words at all.

And what the hell does their charitable work has to with this app? Are they going to save lives or help people in need with this? No.

This is a really interesting move. There is no longer money to be made from the selling of music. That is the age we live in. These artists are banding together because they feel they are "owed" a certain amount for the music they make.

Make your money on tour. Build your brand and make your money that way. These artists already have millions. What more do they want? If you can't sell what your putting out, then maybe you aren't good at what you do and need to find another job.

I'm sorry if you don't make millions off of Spotify. You are not OWED that. Work hard and be glad you can make music. Have some humility and be grateful that you don't have to work a job you don't love... like most people.

I've been replying to people all day on here about why this is POSITIVE... Just fed up with it a bit.

It IS a brave business and creative move, wether you agree on that or not. It is, period. That's why it's "brave", and it was used in the speech on a commercial level just as much as Gaga used bravery in order to promote a product. Commercialism isn't wrong, and as much as some of you all seem fooled Gaga is a big communist hippie, she's not. She's a rich popstar who grew up with a lot of privileges, that doesn't take away from her amazing philanthropic work of course, but BTW being about "bravery" was still a commercial tagline at the end of the day, wether you like that or not. That doesn't mean I'm discrediting Gaga at all, but some of you really took "music not the bling" to the next level and use it as an excuse the minute something costs $0.20

There is nothing wrong with commercialism, and if it can benefit artistry, it's even genius.

Again for the millionth time it's not all about those rich stars, but us "nomal" musicians who have to make a living, just like you in your "normal" job. You think we don't "tour" or work all the damn time? We can't all go on a 100+mil crossing tour -_-

This still has nothing to do with BTW but whatever. I never said Gaga was a communist hippie and I will not say she isn't because I don't know her.

You think it is brave, some other people here don't. Deal with it.

I think you don't understand that just because we don't like this idea it means that we want free music or that we support Spotify.

Ok, Jay Z "confirmed" this is going to be better for artists, but are you sure about that? Do you have receipts? Are you an artist who is making money with Tidal? I'm pretty sure the answer is no.

I'm no going to judge the intentions or the results of this app until I can do it objectively.

lmao I personally think Tidal is a ridiculous idea.. no way I'm signing up to pay for that crap..

Sounds very good on paper, but I think it isn't going to work. Lets be real about this: the one and only reason why spotify became so big is the fact that the majority of the massive population on this planet downloads music illegally. So how convenient it is to have a free app that allows you to listen to the same mainstream music without using storage space. Even if all of your faves in the planet move to Tidal to release things exclusively, someone will still rip it off, and it will be in thepiratebay in seconds. People who joined spotify will not move to Tidal and pay for exclusive material: they will wait for one hour and download the hi-fi torrent and continue with their lives. The way the industry was going before streaming service became a thing.

I believe Tidal can maybe become some hipster thing or status thing ("look, I listen to music through Tidal"). But other than that, the mass who doesn't want to spend money, will not spend it. This idea isn't the second coming as it is painted to be in those videos. Good marketing tho.

How is it ridiculous, may I ask? Offering streaming service that is more fair for the artists for the same price or for super hd quality if you want to pay more. :)
