Jay-Z will officially unveil the music streaming service March 30 for the United States. The countdown can be found on the site's homepage: http://tidal.com/us

What you need to know about Tidal:

It charges $19.99 monthly for unlimited listening of high resolution music -- with no free listening tier, although you can get a seven-day free trial.

Tidal's music quality offerings include 1411 kilobits per second lossless HiFi, which is equivalent to CD sound and considered higher quality than lower resolution levels of Spotify (320 kbps) and iTunes (256 kbps).

Users can access Tidal on Android and iOS devices, computers and some home audio products including Sonos speakers.

Saw the other day, Taylor Swift is on it. It is too expensive to me though.

Still not sure if the services they offer are worth enough to make me consider either subscribing to it along with spotify or switching

$19.99 is a burden on my uni student pockets :hunty:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

I thought the human ear can't even notice the difference between 320kbps and lossless unless really good speakers are being used?

Too expensive  Netflix, God's own creation is less expensive and more useful

Spotify should be 128kpbs to users who don't pay tbh. default_awkney2.gif

It's only 320kpbs for Premium. It's less for free.

Just went to their website and found:

Spotify uses 3 quality ratings for streaming, all in the ggd Vorbis format.

~96 kbps

Normal quality on mobile.

~160 kbps

Desktop and web player standard quality.
High quality on mobile.

~320 kbps (only available to Premium subscribers)

Desktop high quality.
Extreme quality on mobile.

160 kpbs? I don't even know anymore why I am surprised that people listen to that crap, they used to rip those atrocious 96kpbs Youtube audios :awkney:
