"TIDAL" is literally going to flop guys. Nobody is gonna use it and the ones who will use it will probably be the Hive tbh.

$19.99 a month and no free trial or anything? Riighttt. So basically Spotify except demanding more money from the fans. As if concert sales and album/single/merch sales isn't enough as it is.

Madonna, Bey, Rih are pulling their catalogues off spotify. Why? All classic examples of artists who are in it for the nothing more than the money and if they weren't, why wouldn't they leave their catalogues on spotify for those fans who may not be financially fit to fork out $20 a month? Its greedy and embarrassing tbh and I'm so proud of Gaga, Britney, Katy, 1D, Ariana, Miley, (to name only a few) for not taking part in this money grabbing scheme.

You are completely and utterly wrong.

The Tidal standard version is 9.99$ and that alone allows you to play it in a higher quality than Spotify does now. You also get more backstage access to the artist, since they do interviews and behind-the-music specials together with Tidal. You also get a free 30-day trial. There is a $19.99 premium version, that allows lossless streaming, meaning the highest quality format digitally available right now.

Instead of making Spotify's owners and shareholders richer and richer, more money will now go to the labels, artists, writers and producers. Spotify has a laughable way of splitting up their profit, most of it goes back to them. It is not a case of millionaires trying to make more money, it's just some of the biggest names is music coming together in order to get a shift in streaming devices. They are using the big names, because small artists fanbases are not going to make this device happen. Yet, new and indie artists will benefit immensely from Tidal, since they'll get more money our of their streams. The people in that teaser are worth billions together, do you really think they need it? They are doing it for the coins, of course, to a certain extend but also to make sure the industry can breath a little bit more. Have you seen the state of the industry right now? No one makes money off of records anymore, streams are laughable in what they bring the companies instead of artists. Taylor Swift's label only got $500.000 of the $2.5 million she made Spotify last year, and only a small portion of that would actually go to Taylor. It's just not right, whether you agree or not.

And for your information, Gaga, Britney, 1D, Ariana and Miley are ALL on Tidal already, just check the website.

Interesting post by user Pulse on ATRL about Tidal:

Most of you are so stuck with the idea that this whole Tidal thing is about a few billionaire artists. Look at the whole picture - the decline in sales, money and quality of music. They aren't just looking out for themselves (they all have enough money to quit at this very second), but fixing a mistake Spotify made with percentage deals which affects the whole industry. For the consumer Spotify is a great deal. But for artists? It's laughable. This is not about Madonna getting paid. New/indie artists like India Shawn, James Fauntleroy, Flying Lotus, MNEK etc. wanna get paid adequately too.

The bigger stars are just the motivator for the "move" from Spotify to Tidal.

Aamen & halleluja! This is so much more than those starts. It's us little people working in the industry :)

So they're counting on people buying the $20 subscription to pay the artists better? Cause if most people do the $10 I don't understand how they can afford to pay the artists better without making any profit like Spotify. Also where does it say that Tidal will be paying the artists more than other sites?

Because it's wrong and illegal?

That's ur opinion, I don't feel wrong downloading it. Besides, it's not illegal in my country to download songs.
