This is not your normal run of the mill street to construct, this is like at least a million tons of asphalt and metal to deal with and cranes and all those other machines... Like, it would be cheaper, cleaner and easier to just stick with airplanes. sure but dont forget roads are long and thin. as logn as this may be, in total area, theres going to be less concret or asphalt than 1 large city really. not to mention in some areas if this isnt built, they may have to build others anyway while with this u already have a road no everyone using this road is gonna be traveling halfway across the globe. u simply have that option. But if to get from point A to point B u have to travel 50 miles and the road goes that direction, heck you can use it. If its not there, as the population grows some other roads will be build anyway I seriously dont see that big a deal from this. In total area, the land ur destroying really isnt that much. I mean how wide is a road??? even if were talking about a super wide road i still cant picture it being more than 7 lanes on its widest points (the number of lanes will no doubt vary from one section of the road to another)... at most were what? 50 to 60 feet? big woop Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

You could spend the billions for research on green energy, faster trains, better windmills, thorium reactors, etc. And this idea probably has something shady behind it for in case there's a war.
