Is Gaga going backwards?

Featured Posts

Gaga was seen earlier this year in the studio with RedOne, the producer of Gaga's biggest hits.

I thought that Gaga had moved on from Red One and was working on creating new, innovative music. ARTPOP was truly an innovative audio experience and I would hater to see her moving backwards.

What do you think?

You didn't even hear their new work yet :awkney:

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

That's true, but all their work sounds similar. It can't be that different!

ARTPOP is her best album by far so I'm not expecting her to top it.

I'm just looking forward to hearing whatever she decides to create. :gayhat:

Yes, I agree! That's why I'm so upset with her working with RedOne again. Their music is so basic.

^ agreed, ARTPOP was an amazing experience for me, when I truly realised she was unique and I started stanning hard for her, if she tops it (which she will) idk what I'm gonna do tbh

I'm not surprised she has gone back to RedOne considering the commercial response to ARTPOP seemed to really get to her. I love ARTPOP and will defend it until the day I die. The way she was praising Sam Smith makes me feel like she is going to abandon the epicness of ARTPOP for safe "universally appealing" music in order to win more Grammys and sell more copies.

It all comes down to personal taste and opinion in these cases. Yes, RedOne is known for creating radio hits which people might describe as "basic" or "generic" and yes in some cases I agree with certain songs produced by him but i'm keeping an open mind. I just have a feeling this album is gonna be amazing.

I disagree. It's far from basic.. I mean.. RedOne's work without Gaga is basic, yeah, but together they truly create magic.

And didn't Gaga herself say that she's looking back to her old self?.. I would love to see something from her Stefani/TheFame/Monster/BTW days with a new, fresh flavour..

And don't worry, Gaga has always topped herself with every album.. Her best is yet to come, I'm sure.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I don't think she is going backwards.  Just because she is using a producer she has used in the past does not mean it will sound anything like her old stuff.  It could be completely different.  Only time will tell.

Just compre ARTPOP and TFM lyrics.

"Show me your teeth"

vs

"I overheard your theory, nostalgia's for geeks"

ARTPOP is her most dynamic, accomplished body of work. I'm sorry if you can't see that but i can understand your gravitating to her more 'accessible' music.

I'm happy she is working with RedOne again. I don't care if she is playing it safe.

I like ARTPOP but its production lacks of that iconic sound that made her famous in the first place.
