Bambino 24,288
Some of Gaga's outfits during the ARTPOP era represented or referred to some of the most famous works of art and paintings. Forget about the music. Forgot about how the entire era underperformed. The concept of ARTPOP was to put art into pop. Pop expressed in music, and art visualized in fashion and outfits. Do you think Gaga did it right when it came to the art part?
OBEY 57,109
I think she did for most of the Applause era, and in some of her performances. Then we all know what happened, we never got the final product of this era, and we will never get it. so we will never know i dont think the MUSIC was meant to be artistic, more the imagery of the era
Alii 2,039
No lol. ARTPOP had nothing to do with art. It was just as bad as any other generic album.
Miky 9,491
People are stupid when they say that the music wasn't artistic enough - that wasn't what she wanted to do. The music is pop and I think she succeeded in putting art into pop to some extent (you know, the era unfortunately ended in the middle so she didn't have enough time and opportunities) Too many people here with moral superiority complex. Immortal 222
Yes, kinda. I especially love how she put artistic references in "Applause", I think it's my favourite video so far.
Bio 23,538
She did put existing artworks into her visuals but there was nothing highly artistic about the songs.

Ex 81
She did, aside from what people would like to believe. THE ART WAS INTENDED TO BE IN THE VISUALS, NOT THE MUSIC ITSELF. AND THE ALBUM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN AUDIOVISUAL EXPERIENCE. Also I would like to point out that everyone in pop has been jumping onto the art bandwagon since ARTPOP was announced, let alone released. Azor Ahai 18,861
She started great with Applause then the era stopped at DWUW so we couldnt know what more she could do. GUY was like a bonus video

Swan Heart 7,382
She did this since day one. They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.
liz89 373
yeah, maybe with her outfits. Not with the music itself.
Phoenix 17,395
Yeah, I love how she tried to make art and pop come together and how passionate she was about it. True artist. 💎
LaXian 25
In the beginning ... Yes! I loved the looks as well as the music especially but yeah we all know what happened and no need to keep bringing it up ... I just have this feeling that one day ARTPOP will be praised and get the recognition it deserves.
