The weaker currency that comes with lower oil prices may help manufacturing and non-energy exports, but experts claim it will take 2-3 years to feel the full effects of a weaker currency as manufacturers were hard hit over the past 5 years and will take a long time to recover enough to be in condition to expand their businesses. Despite record high consumer debt of 166% of income, and Canada being listed in the top 3 Countries in the world with most over-valued real-estate with ever rising prices and over-construction, The Central Bank has felt it has had no choice at this time but to "further stimulate domestic spending while waiting for other sectors to recover" after cutting rates. Canada's largest banks have cut fixed mortgage rates to 2.79% (small banks as low as 2.5%) and variable mortages at just above 2%. Further expected rate cuts from the Central Bank could send rates even lower According to some experts, at this time to keep the economy going until either manufacturing or energy recovers, The Government must encourage the credit bubble to keep getting bigger The Conservatives also pledged to bring Canada back into budget surplus by 2015 (before oil collapsed). For political reasons the Government may try to force the budget into surplus despite warnings from economists that now is a terrible time for further cuts. From living there to being canadian, does he not have any value or respect for originality? He's a laughing stock. It's cheesy. It's disgusting. I personally find it absolutely artistically atrocious. I am embarrassed to be sitting here in his presence having to even dignify him with an answer of my opinion.
