Isn't that more than Rebel Heart? (Correct me if I'm wrong) but if it's true...

It seems like surprise releases really are the way forward for the music industry right now :omg: (Taylor Swift being the exception :toofunny: ). I wonder how long it'll last though, like will it eventually slump down to just 50-100k? And if so, how long will it take until it gets there?

It's risky I find. "Hey guy's *artist* randomly put out her album go buy it!" of course is a good strategy for now since just how things blow up on social media sites the same type of effect happens in music but in terms of longevity for sales it's a bad idea. IMO

Yeah I totally see what you mean :omg: Plus I think it'd only work for more popular artists with bigger names, like only they'd be able to pull it off successfully  Otherwise it could majorly backfire :rip:

Exactly like ofcourse it would work for Beyonce but would be horrible for Marina and the Diamonds :deadbanana:

I don't know seems fans are always hungry for "new" music. It may be a good formula for artists with built in fan bases. Putting out a single months before an album has been done to death since people began buying albums. Now people get there fill with the first single and don't really buy the album. With the whole album coming out people should buy the album before they even get tired of the first single. Anyways thats what I think. I think its smart to change the way an album is introduced maybe it should have changed a long time ago.

Considering Electra Heart sold like 11k, those are amazing numbers for Marina when you consider the album leaked :applause:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn

Oh I agree it does give it a new spin but not for not for artist that are still relatively unknown to the GP other than the online community. I'm for it it also helps to not turn people off with hype from an artist months in advance.
