Coop 14,968
Illinois congressman Aaron Schock is resigning shortly after questions were raised about his spending habits. Schock has been accused of spending campaign money on a ton of extravagant things — from private jets to Katy Perry concert tickets and other events — totaling over $24,000. An ethics complaint was first filed against Schock after it was discovered that an interior designer redecorated his office in the likeness of Downton Abbey for free. According to the Washington Post, House Ethics state that lawmakers cannot accept free “gifts of services.” Schock eventually paid the designer around $40,000 for the remodel. Schock released a statement addressing his resignation, though he did not admit to having done anything wrong. His statement read (quote via the Huffington Post), “I do this with a heavy heart. Serving the people of the 18th District is the highest and greatest honor I have had in my life. I thank them for their faith in electing me and letting me represent their interests in Washington.” Schock continued, “But the constant questions over the last six weeks have proven a great distraction that has made it too difficult for me to serve the people of the 18th District with the high standards that they deserve and which I have set for myself. I have always sought to do what’s best for my constituents and I thank them for the opportunity to serve.” Clearly no stranger to pop culture references, Schock previously quoted Taylor Swift, saying (via the Washington Post), “As Taylor Swift said, haters are gonna hate.” http://popcrush.com/aaron-schock-resigns-katy-perry-tickets/

Nick1495 991
So he resigned because if his spending habits. The fact that he bought Katy Perry concert tickets isn't the ONLY reason he resigned. The title makes it seem like the concert tickets are the main reason he resigned. Kinda misleading

Hauser 1,262
The title is a bit misleading he didn't resign specifically because of Katy Perry ticket purchases, he resigned because of his spending tax money on things that weren't needed (expensive trips for himself, trips for his staff, etc) and he knows more stuff will be discovered as people dig deeper so resigning now wont tarnish his reputation as a congressman.
