ItsTommyBitch 12,640 Posted March 30, 2015 Share Posted March 30, 2015 All these reviews making me realize in ways I couldn't articulate why I love FROOT so much It really is a beautifully honest, unashamed and unfiltered look at life (specifically Marina's life) through the veil of beautiful, but not overproduced Pop music Songs like 'I'm a Ruin' make me both interested in that kind of perspective but also want to dance along and embrace it. Songs like Solitaire just kill me though It's exactly how I feel a lot of the times. That washed out guitar solo on the bridge is really good.I still think Better Than That is the worst song on the album though, I don't get what anyone hears in it. Forget is second worse. They hold onto that era for dear life and measure this album to it. With its subtlety it seems so much tamer by comparison so they consider it a bore. Maybe in certain respects it is by comparison, but its a good album and clearly critical reception proves that. BUT to be honest, i've noticed there are a lot of pop stans that don't like Marina.
