Wow, I'm kind of shocked to be honest. Hammerstein was his mentor and he wrote a lot of lyrics for the Sound of Music with him and Rodgers, so I would his is the one of the few valid opinions on the matter and should be respected, also taking in consideration his importance and status in the Broadway community. That being said, I don't agree at all, but people dismissing him and going at him with the "who comments"

He wrote West Side Story, Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Follies, Gypsy and many others. Basically a lot of the most important musicals ever. He is one of the most respected and important living legends on Broadway and revolutionized modern musical theatre with the contents and lyrics of Company, one of the most influential pieces of musical theater of the 20th century, arguably since Hair in the 60s.
