Sondheim is a living legend. It's not an opinion.

That doesn't make his opinion correct. It's still just that...an opinion.

Gorl musicals are always adapted into international productions in literally so many countries. Musical Theatre isn't even American Culture.

'So many' doesn't mean 'every,' right? Or am I missing something?

Because there is no shows with those titles here in my country.

And even if there is, it still means nothing because it's just a show, like if Gaga has a show somewhere, should everybody know of her and all her songs?

No.

If Stephen-something has a show in China, should everybody know and see the show, even an 83-year-old grandma?

I don't think so.

Musical theater is not classical music, it's not that important.

And you say Stephen-something isn't in American culture? Because I obviously talked about that person, not musical theater in general.

Sondheim is a living legend. It's not an opinion.

Most RIDICULOUS sentence EVER.

No matter how much of an expert he might be, the perception of art is ALWAYS a matter of taste. The old man is entitled to his opinion, but it's nothing more than another opinion, among many other opinions. Put him on a pedestal all you want but he's NOT the universal standard for truth. Other people (experts or not) have the right to disagree with him, their voices matter just as much!

That being said, Sondheim is an actual living legend and the lack of respect that Craig displays is disgusting.

Nobody DESERVES respect, you earn it. And being a crabby old b---h is a good way to lose it. Craig said nothing about his achievements, he was calling it like he sees it.

When did I say his opinion was correct?

Dude, I never said he was the definitive answer. I was saying at the end of the day, Sondheim is a living legend and Craig should show more respect.

I beg to differ. Especially as a producer of an awards show. Act professionally, especially towards someone so significant. It was immature and disrespectful.

Did he lie though? Who really cares about his opinion? It came a month later after universal praise, and he came across as pretentious and overdramatic.

Just love watching the obvious ones crawl out from their rocks.

So much fun to laugh at their pathetic, weak attempts! :);)

The reporter asked about it, so they probably did. And Craig felt the need to respond, so he probably did as well.

the "verbally destroy every performer they see" part is absolutely a lie though. Sondheim is known for being very sweet and humble.

I never understand why you're always so hyper defensive and reactionary. We're just talking. Calm down.
