Kylie Minogue splits with label following ‘Kiss Me Once’ flop

Kylie Minogue has parted ways with her record label of fifteen years, Parlophone Records, following the poor performance of her last studio album, Kiss Me Once.

Reports of the split first surfaced in June last year but were vehemently denied by Minogue, who tweeted at the time;

Minogue has now officially confirmed the split to the Herald Sun.

Despite leaving Parlophone, Minogue insists that there’s no bad blood between them and that they remain “family.”

Parlophone’s history now, but the 46-year-old still has her American management deal with Roc Nation and is still signed to Warner Music in Australia. She’s also being represented for acting with the high-powered talent agency CAA, which represents A-listers like Jennifer Aniston and Selena Gomez.

Besides pursing acting projects (she has a minor role in Dwayne Johnson‘s San Andreasand a two-episode guest spot on the Emily Osment sitcom Young & Hungry), the Aussie pop princess is also working on new music without the pressure of a major label breathing down her neck.

As previously reported by Popdust, she has an EP produced by Fernando Garibay in the works, and has also been collaborating with Giorgio Moroder on a few different things.

She’s had a few setbacks, but the future definitely looks bright for Ms. Minogue!

I thought KMO was pretty good. Not my fave, but there were quite a few bops. But tbh, as much as I want her to have bigger fame in America, I don't think it's going to happen.

I Was Gonna Cancel could have slayed so hard if given the chance but the chance was never given. It seems pure pop is not what anybody wants. The world is becoming decrepit as a majority whilst the minority at heart will never die. It is too young to die but if I Was Gonna Cancel performed poorly, the health of the youth is in the body of the decrepit society which bore it

I don't see real news in this interview. It's been known that Kylie's contract with Parlo was up after KMO and she hasn't re-signed (yet?). However, there has been no official burning of bridges or announcement she is leaving.
