I'm totally agree with you in every point.

It seems that the only big deal about this album is the fact that it's gonna sell a lot basically.

I have to say that even Ariana's album (that seems that suddenly everybody in here has forgotten) it's better.

Yeah. Is just that many here see my opinion as hating.

Just listened to it and think it's one of her worst, second only to the bland-fest that is Speak Now. Taylor simply cannot pull off pop convincingly. Just like I don't think Nicki Minaj is being genuine with her pop work, I feel like Taylor does not have pop chops like the other full-time pop girls. Not much point in being a sell-out if you can't even be good at it. Seeing as Martin/Shellback oversaw the majority of the album, I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor's writing took more of a backseat to theirs as you don't hire big guns like them to write a line or two. They are professional pop songwriters who were hired to make Taylor into a bonfide pop artist as she clearly couldn't do it on her own. Once again, Taylor falls prey to bland writing and the same old topics. Her albums are practically interchangeable. She doesn't grow or experiment (no, going mainstream pop when she was gradually heading that way from the beginning isn't experimenting) and considering she's been in the industry for nearly 9 years now, that is pretty bad. Even the most generic of pop girls had taken risks by this point. I'm not asking her to reinvent the wheel, just try something new and step outwith her comfort zone. An artist should strive to challenge themselves and Taylor's idea of that is to make an upbeat synthy track, which isn't good enough. And her shocking copying of Lana Del Rey's style on Wildest Dreams is pretty brazen. Sure, it's one of the best tracks she's ever made, but there's no way this track would have existed had Lana not been around to be inspired by. It sounds like a mash-up of Born To Die, Summertime Sadness and Without You. Heat magazine was the only one who had the guts to point this out in their review, but I doubt anyone else but me is going to bring it up at all. Once again, Taylor gets away with everything.

I've always had the impression that Taylor is an artist who writes down what pops into her head and decides it'll do - there's no development or mastery involved afterwards. Her consistent autumnal, 2 year releases is evident that she works according to a very strict schedule and that kind of thing kills creativity, just like Rihanna's annual November releases. Writing a masterpiece takes time and you can't plan it to a schedule. So, until Taylor stops being so obsessed with her release date theme, I don't think her work is ever going to improve. To think, out of all the albums released this year, this is the one that is breaking records and having smash sales...there are just some things in life I will never understand, and the appeal of someone like Taylor Swift, of very limited talent, is one of them.

Considering the album hasn't been out a week yet and you're already calling it overrated is hate in my eyes. Clearly many people do like the album, it's not like the album is called good without a visible appreciation, people like it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's overrated, it simply means you don't like it.

People just buy things because they want to... that's all... Taylor's job is to make them want it and obviously she did.

I can't stand her face and her music, so 100% DONE

If only you guys put this much time and energy into buying ARTPOP

This thread is disgusting. If you don't like Taylor, ignore her. If you like Taylor, that doesn't give you a right to trash Gaga to make a point... Who's ****ing site are you on :wtf:

I'm not going to name names but there are some people in this thread who will constantly complain about pretty much anything on the forum. I literally never seem them post anything neutral or positive, they always have something to whine about. No one wants to hear you drone on about your negative thoughts on life and the world 24/7. Hence, I'm not surprised by some of the posts here.

We thought we were on the site of the woman who preached online kindness and camaraderie between artists but apparently that hasn't gotten across to some. I agree it's wrong to bash Gaga in order to bring up your own faves, do it on their own merits. But for the most part it's people trying to undermine the artist that the thread is made for by bringing Gaga and how she's better in literally everything that the start the comparison fights.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I actually disagree. I haven't been so into an album since ARTPOP... and a non-Gaga album in years. I think she did a great job on it and it deserves every ounce of success!! GO TAYLOR!

Sameee

Nope. What typically starts it all is some stan of another artist gets their feelings hurt because their fave is getting some negativity. They then decide to get back at GGD and the Gaga fans by making some ridiculous off-topic comparison with Gaga's work or achievements. It is rarely the other way around, but what you are stating does also happen sometimes...just not as much as the first scenario. If stans of other artists could learn to back up their arguments and statements maturely, with facts and opinions that aren't off topic or about Gaga or her fans here, we might actually be able to have some discussions about music.

It's all about the drama here, though, but you probably know that by now. :)

I find the opposite happening far more but I guess that's all a matter of perception. And even in moments where the other side does bring up Gaga, it's often to highlight that one side will tear down an artist for a specific reason but completely give Gaga the free pass for basically doing the same, which while I still don't agree with it, it IS a valid criticism to point out on terms of Stan behavior and hypocrisy.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
