​OGAE or Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l'Eurovision is a Eurovision fan club. Most countries has their own fan club, but some don't so they have one club together called OGAE Rest of the World.

Each year the fan clubs have their own little contest and vote for their favorites. So it's just fan voting and have nothing to do with the real contest.

They also have other contests, like Second Chance Contest. Each club choose one song from their countrys selection that didn't make it to Eurovision and then they vote for their favorites Eurovision style :)

Thanks for the clear explanation. :) I was able to catch on Eurovision on 2013 upon arriving here in Australia and seeing how the Aussies are crazy for it made me curious on ESC then got hooked.

 

and I'm glad it's just fan voting. I almost thought it's a strong indication that those countries are on the frontrow of winning. I would love to be surprised by the winner. :)

I wouldn't deny that the Swedish songs for the past few years are solid ones. Even La Voix on 2009 (not sure about the year tho) was also good.

 

What I'm trying to say is this Heroes song isnt anything special. My first time listening made me think it's a "David Guetta featuring another artist" song.

 

I have this thought that if Heroes and Mans were to represent Moldova, I doubt that would be one of the favorites.

 

While I like Swedish music (Robyn, Icona Pop, Agnes), I really believe that it's the Euphoria effect that helped this song be perceived as another marvelous dance song.

​It usually is a pretty good indicaton of how it will turn out, but it's absolutely no guarantee. The biggest disappointment must be Israel last year. They came 3rd in the OGAE voting and they got 2nd last place in the semi-final
