Brainiac 11,171
An Arizona jury was once again unable to reach a unanimous decision on whether Jodi Arias should be executed for the gruesome 2008 murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, a judge announced Thursday.Because a second jury was deadlocked in the penalty phase of Arias' case, the death penalty is off the table, and the convicted killer will be sentenced to life in prison. Judge Sherry Stephens will determine April 13 whether Arias will be sentenced to life or life with the possibility of release after 25 years. Arias would get credit for the six years she has already served. The jury in Arias' penalty phase retrial got the case February 25, just before 2 p.m. ET. It took them approximately 26 hours before the judge declared the jury was hung.Arias, 34, was found guilty of first-degree murder in May 2013. The jury that convicted her found the murder was especially cruel, making Arias eligible for the death penalty. However, that same jury was unable to reach a unanimous decision on whether she should live or die.A new jury was empanelled in October 2014 to decide Arias’ fate.Arias will serve her sentence at the Lumley Unit in the Arizona State Prison Complex-Perryville near Goodyear.http://www.hlntv.com/article/2015/03/05/jodi-arias-hung-jury-life-sentence

Goosey 3,017
Why does it matter if she's executed though? They already spent the money on the trial so that's done, no point in making taxpayers spend a huge sum taking care of her for the next 40-50 years... Rae 86
Hello again OP. So I just am posting what I earlier said on my post. Breeze How can this be?????????????? How can this be?????????????????? I am so disgusted. But I remember what Joan Rivers saidhttp://youtu.be/rruCKbYG2t0 about the jury of Casey Anthony. If you didn't know Jodi Arias before this 2nd phase you must be living under a rock. These Jurors had what they thought about Jodie Arias before the 2nd phase. They / the Jurors need to give America a explanation how they failed the 2nd time around. They failed. They did not do their Job which they all said they will do. They failed. If you think I am mad, I am. You slit a throat side to side and cut that person to endlessness and shoot him - And no marks on you - And the Jury can not make a decision of Life or Death. Their is at least one moron in each 2 phases. They need to change this court system where 80 percent need to agree. Horrid crimes are ok according to US Juries concerning woman I guess. Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias - woman that got away with murder. Jodi Arias admitted to it - but not get the Death Penalty. Why is it so hard to put a female to death when they kill in the way they did. Jeffrey Dahmer - Jodi Arias I hope gets the same fate.11-1 for death Always one moron.Just heard on HLN that 1 juror had her mind mad up from the start even thou she said she was willing to consider capital punishment if the situation called for it (something like that)- other jurors sounding off.. Sounds like someone lied during the interviewing process when selecting a jury.
Kayla 7,595
I disagree Also in China they manage to do it for low price, it's a low-cost option Disagree? It's not a matter of opinion- there are actual numbers and statistics to show that sentencing someone to the death penalty costs more than life in prison. llbcherry 591
Really not sure how I feel about this... they think the one juror was a holdout and had an agenda, to prevent her from being executed for whatever reasons. I don't know how I feel about capitol punishment. Sometimes I think life imprisonment is just as good, if not better...
Rae 86
Juror #17 was the lone person that caused the hung jury to 11-1. She ended up as a coward because she did not appear in court during the verdict along side the rest of the Juror's.That one juror had a agenda:http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/03/05/angry-jodi-arias-jurors-say-holdout-agenda/24452177/Juror # 17's ex-husband has ties to prosecutor Juan Martinezhttp://www.fox10phoenix.com/story/28284698/2015/03/06/juror-17s-ex-husband-has-ties-to-prosecutor-juan-martinezDeath threats against Juror #17 - I would of been surprised if she didn't get death threats. She should of seen this coming - She wanted this media headline in my opinion.http://www.insideedition.com/headlines/9870-lone-juror-against-jodi-arias-death-penalty-receives-death-threatshttp://www.fox10phoenix.com/story/28276900/2015/03/05/juror-17-from-the-arias-sentencing-receives-death-threatsThis person should of never been on the Jury. She did have a agenda in my opinion from the start. Unfit.
