Kind of off topic, but I'm looking on the posts on tumblr about the album, and really getting a sense that people misinterpret Lana because of her (die-hard, mislead) fans. They put her on this ridiculous pedestal and claim that she is this super artsy and unique artist, when really she isn't. I don't mean that in a negative way, but she isn't original at all. She's just doing a style of music that no one else is really doing right now. At least not on her level. I don't pay that close of attention to her, but I don't ever see her saying "Well, what I'm doing is artistically and stylistically better than what others are doing in the industry right now," that's her fans saying that. Then the media and the general public are the ones who look at the fans to interpret the culture the artist is creating and assume that's what the artist was going for. Lana is just making the music she wants to make, she isn't trying to sell it as this totally unique or brilliant piece of art. I mean in the end every artist is a little pretentious and arrogant, otherwise they would never make it in the entertainment industry.

It's very much like our fandom with Gaga. She isn't "better" because she tends to be more artistic than other artists, it's just that we are more interested in that style of artist. But fans take it to a whole new, unnecessary level and really cloud what the artists true intentions really were.

P.S.: I like this album and BTD, so this is coming from a place of interest in the way people perceive celebrities and not an attack on Lana or her career by any means.

Ahh I really love the sound of this album so much! She matured so well from Born To Die / Paradise to Ultraviolence, the tracklisting flows perfectly! I'm LOVING Money Power Glory and all of the songs really, Black Beauty has some nice changes although they might've not been necessary.

If we don't get videos for Money Power Glory and Old Money I'm going to be pressed. They both slay me so hard. :saira:  :worship:  :legend:

The bonus tracks are a million times better than Shades of Cool, Pretty When You Cry, and Sad Girl. Lana is trying to get some extra coins with the deluxe version.  :awkney:
