craig 680
This "So Legit" stuff really proves how childish stans are. From any fanbase. I don't care about those poor people unfollowing her and stuff, in fact I think it's a good thing for her, getting rid of annoying people. Really bad example. Childish is hating another artist for charting higher than your fave out of jealousy. Or hating them for a somewhat similar fashion choice and going on and on about "copying." Disliking someone for writing a diss song about your fave is quite understandable ... if you are a stan in any sense at all.
Eros92 2,496
Angels Forever is very nice and beautiful. Probably one of my favorite of the leaks. And on the topic of writing hate songs what if Gaga wrote one about Madonna? Would you guys lose respect for Gags? Would you care? I mean it works both ways it's just ridiculous and get over it. This was in 2008 before Gaga was successful Besides i still believe Gaga and Lana used to know each other but got into an argument so she did this song. She used it like as if she was writing in a diary. Besides she was probably drunk and all. No excuse for a few pressed stans/old bandwagoners to start hating on Lana because of this tbh

Delete 258
The only thing I don't care for, is how she recycles a lot of melodies and lyrics in her songs. For example she tends to use the following words/concepts in her music. "Diamonds" "Like a child" "My Father" "America" "Paradise" I don't care about "So Legit". It's poorly written and executed at a time when even I didn't care for Gaga. It just showcases jealousy.

Or the snobby idea that pop success is selling out? Or is someone just answering back? It might be "classier" to say nothing, but I wouldn't hold it against Gaga for answering back. bigpinkenergy 1,009
what's wrong with re-using things? It's what makes Lana Del Rey who she is. Even Gaga is recycling the concept of fame over and over, and I love it personally.
craig 680
Do you think Lana considers herself a pop star or some kind of hip indie artist that is above that?. It seems that Gaga and Lana started out as hipsters in NY. Gaga embraced pop first, perhaps getting in touch again with her 13 year old self that loved Britney. Lana at the time of the diss track seems to be looking down on Gaga as a sell out. Yet she clearly wanted to be a big star too. So Lana was marketed by Interscope as a kind of hipster phenomena, doing sad slow music that was much more Adele than Gaga. But hipsters called her out as fake and manufactured. So how does Lana see herself now, when a dance remix is getting her unprecedented US success? (and her fanbase or more young gays than indie hipsters)

dc1993 1
If it was anyone else I would agree, but since it's Lana, she could just mix footage from the shoot, some flowers and random old videos and bam, Black Beauty video :D yasss

So how does Lana see herself now, when a dance remix is getting her unprecedented US success? (and her fanbase or more young gays than indie hipsters) I don't think Lana had anything to do with being marketed towards hipsters. Maybe her label initially tried to market her towards certain groups of people / certain publications, and it clearly backfired. A dance remix in the US is one thing. Major success, sales (BTD did amazingly well in the UK last year) and love for her original music in Europe and the rest of the world is something she clearly is very grateful for, and therefore will remain faithful to those places and the music they love her for. She isn't one to turn and change with trends in music (clearly) so I imagine she's pleased with the success of the SS remix in the US, but it won't make her think "yeah Im gonna do a dance record next so I can be more successful in the US" Lana makes art, and Europe has always been much more open to welcoming authentic, long-lasting artists than US audiences. "I believe in the country America used to be."
