Global warming about to cause spike in temperature

Global warming has consistently been one of the most-challenged and polarizing concepts in the scientific or political landscape over the course of the last several years. While some deny the existence of a human-impacted climate change – others argue that there is no evidence that supports the notion that a human could have had an impact on our overall climate. That being said though, the argument has gotten significantly harder to make for scientists and political figures who believe global warming is a thing of fiction thanks to new data which was release this week.

This week two major populations released papers which documented just how severely the temperature is actually about to spike here on Earth. The studies utilized surface temperatures and temperature cycles of the oceans – specifically the Pacific Ocean – and found that the two correlate directly. As it turns out pattern looks vaguely as though the temperature of the Earth follows the trend and pattern of the oceans around Earth. This information reveals the connection that exists when it comes to temperature on Earth, and how we as humans are in for a serious warm up.

Economy

With the terrible Canadian Winters give me the heat please

On a more serious note tho, to fight global warming we need proper collaboration and common attainable goals

Some enviornmentalists try to shoot every major project down and get fanatic and tbh not only does that not work, but it makes some ppl think of environmentalists as crazy. Also the world is dependant on fossil fuels, u cant just take it away like Environmetalists attempt to do cause that would collapse our society

Instead, we should encourage green development with things like a gradual increase in carbon taxes (within reason) to discourage its consumption and use that money to temporarily subsidize companies in green development like electric cars and green energy

Part of the issue is that our alternatives to fossil fuels are still expensive and sometimes unreliable depending on what it is. Rather than fighting with companies and trying to stop everything and creating an issue of economy vs envrionment, why not fight harder to get more resources put into research to actually improve on renewable technology and making it more economical and reliable? Eliminating the need for fossil fuels will not only work better than trying to stop each individual drilling or pipeline project one by one, but it will get those results without damaging the general economy and without getting people hurt

Last time they predicted a prediction ... Nutn' happened.

Like uhm' the NY blizzard that 'was' gonna cause total destruction, but only a few snow flakes really happened.

look at long term trends, never ever agree or disagree because of a warm year or cold year. even before global warming there were years that were unseasonably warm just as there were years that were unseasonably cold. Temperatures are not constant

Here in North America its been a much colder winter than normal

in fact since like the 1950s planet earth has only warmed up i believe less than 2C which is a difference most people wont really notice. Only scientists keeping track of it really notice it

Of course 2C is enough to mess up some patterns including storms etc of course we will see the changes the temperature has made

but the temperature itself is not enough for us to really feel the change. I think its more psychological than anything else. We hear about global warming so every time the temperatures go above average we immediately associate it with global warming and perceive the warming to have been greater than it actually has been

Funny thing is, liberals are the conservative ones concerning global warming in my country together with nationalists.

Is 1% or so economic growth worth ruining the environment? In my opinion it is not. The government's primary goal should be to make people happy, and economic growth is just instrumental. A good nature, clean air, good biodiversity and such are, however also instrumental and there should be no big priority between the two.. both are extremely important.
