Maybe you should also read how other religions are treated in the not Western World. I always see you bragging about Islam, but never about Judaism or Christianity where followers have it way more difficult than followers of Islam in the Western World.

Why are you coming after him, though? you always brag about Judaism and Christianity, but always criticize Islam / Muslims, we've all seen you do it. Then why call him out when what you're doing is far worse? :air:

Saying 'Arab countries would do the same/worse' entirely evades the point of this.

We are countries that encourage religious freedom and acceptance, allowing people to express themselves without fear of persecution. This man for wearing his religious attire has been berated, abused and accused of being a terrorist... which entirely undermines our principles as accepting people and makes us no better than the countries you're trying to flaunt as 'worse than us'.

You should be appauled stuff like this is happening in Europe where we should know better than this, because you damn well would be if it was hurling homophobic remarks rather than Islamaphobia.

TReligion needs to fade in public places. No matter what religion.

I don't get why. It's so stupid, tbh. I have this Muslim African teacher that chooses to discard everything Christians say. Me and him always get into huge arguments. He's always trashing Christians with the "no god but allah" bull****. And I just get sick of it. I end up winning the arguements :gaga:

There are a lot of nice Muslims, though

I'm actually born Muslim, but I don't follow it. I don't even know if I believe in God :laughga: But that doesn't give me any right to trash anyone's religion, and I respect everyone.

Of course, I have tons of Muslim friend and they are nice and liberal and accepting! I only have a problem with religion extremism, but it plays no role what religion. I hate them equally.

I agree. Trust me, im completely appauled, because any type of abuse is wrong. I'm not saying its right for him to be abused at all! I'm only talking about some of my experiences with these types of things, so I hope no one misunderstood what I meant!

I criticize Christian and Jewish extremism as well. It's just happen that Muslim extremism is quite more dominant in this world.

I'm against extremism, not the religion or the followers of their people.

Maybe you should also read how other religions are treated in the not Western World. I always see you bragging about Islam, but never about Judaism or Christianity where followers have it way more difficult than followers of Islam in the Western World.

Well, maybe you should also. I don't brag about my Christianity even though I am a Christian. Have you been in the threads where I talk about my religion? Obviously not. And also, for a person who cares about the plight of his people, I find it very selfish of you and conceited that you do not care for the plight of another. Also, on the threads that are about Judaism and people being anti-semitic, I do express my concern for Jewish people

Maybe I "brag" about Islam because people bash it all the time on here. Not everybody does but many do. They also do that to Christianity and I also express my concern when atheists bash my religion or that of others, saying it's a wast of time

Also, have you noticed that more threads that pop up on GGD concerning religion just happen to be about Islam? Have you noticed that people like you have said some very negative things about issues which concern Islam that doesn't even have to do with Islamic terrorism? They just express disapproval of the religion and say some awful things. Just the other day, you even said in the thread about the three girls who went to join ISIS why would I want radicals in my country to which I answered I didn't. I was concerned for their safety and their youth

I don't know why you and a few other users have to be hateful and rude. People say your nice and I see that at times but when it comes to Islam, you and others are very negative towards the religion. Muslims are not bad people

I am fascinated with the history of Islam and the history of Judaism because those two religions are related to my own religion. I am also fascinated by other cultures around the world and I have studied them immensely butqhen I see ignorance at play, I am compelled to educate those who do not or refuse to understand. They lack the education of certain cultures and sound very xenophobic once they do

To add on, you may ask why I am always saying stuff about Islam. Well, as the descendant of the Mesoamericans and Europeans, probably Spanish who conquered my parents home country, I see ignorance about my people everywhere. I see many generalizations made and stereotypes believed and it sickens me that I see the same thing happen with Muslims and with Jewish people. It's just that not many accounts of anti-semitism in the West has been reported on here for me to voice my disgust for the anti-semitism. There was one thread and I was absolutely horrified by the anti-semitism which exists in the West. However, I am equally as horrified by the amount of Islamophobia in the West, too. Jewish people can easily blend into the Western world but Muslims often times do not because of the stereotype that has been created for them

I hate inequality and intolerance in the world, especially in the West which has more opportunities han various other parts in the world. Right now it seems like the people facing the most discrimination are Muslims. That is why I am here on GGD and the United States and the World to stop Islamophobia by educating those ignorant to the discrimination. I don't like seeing discrimination especially since my own people were and are discriminated against because of the perception that we came to the US illegally, taking American jobs, don't know a lick of English, we're wetbacks, beaners, uneducated, farming folk, gangsters, wear sombreros and drink Corona all the time

Please, just take the time out of your day that you and me are not the only ones who are at a greater chance to face discrimination. There are many other ethnicities, religions, and nationalities who face the same hate we do and instead of fueling the fires of prejudice, we must stand united and eliminate all embers of prejudice and discrimination

Can you blame people for being scared? im not defending the hate, im just saying. It's stereotyping.. people stereotype all sharks to kill any human on first sight because of one movie concept, when that's not the case. It's the same here :emma:

Well would you say the same for some racists who report every dark person in their neighborhood, because they are scared of black people, they heard that many of them are in gangs or prisons etc. Stereotyping is dangerous.

I blame people for being ignorant.

I know if i continue reading some of the comments here i'll just end up getting a few warning points, but i'll leave it at that.

Notice the difference between comments about Jewish man in Paris and in this thread.

Comments like ''disgusting, vile etc'' are replaced with - this video is pointless, this man is attention seeking, religious clothes should be banned and comparisons to third world countries are suppose to make everything seem better.

Antisemitism is bad, but Islamophobia is ok. Both are bad. Both should be tackled.

No one would dare to say that Jewish man was attention seeking, that his Kippah(skullcap) should be banned, that he shouldn't show his religion outwardly. Because that would sound antisemitic. And it is.

But enough with double standards.

What you said right here - ''A terrorist is defined by his actions, not his clothes / religion / race'' - is all what needs to be said.

Other so called arguments just show they you(not you, just in general) silently approve this kind of behaviour or think they somehow deserved it.

Islam does not get any more bash than other religions here. The best things is to ignore the hate on religions.

Well, the islam is the predominant religion which is a potential threat to our Western civilization. (Of course not all of Islam and Muslim, I mean obvious the extremist branches rn)

Also I never said something against the peaceful and accepting Islam. But I do have something against people who follow their belief and think it's right to discriminate because of their belief. This goes for any religion though. (Discrimination against other beliefs, woman or gays) They won't get any respect from me and I won't tolerate them.

I don't know why you and a few other users have to be hateful and rude. People say your nice and I see that at times but when it comes to Islam, you and others are very negative towards the religion. Muslims are not bad people

I'm not hateful at all. Or maybe I am. I'm hateful on extremist beliefs. But I also think I have every right to be hateful towards harsh beliefs. Also keep in mind religion=/= people. Just because I don't like the concept of (any) religion, doesn't mean I hate their follower. You need to differ those. I don't think that the average individual muslim is bad, but I do think that some of their beliefs are bad.

I am fascinated with the history of Islam and the history of Judaism because those two religions are related to my own religion. I am also fascinated by other cultures around the world and I have studied them immensely butqhen I see ignorance at play, I am compelled to educate those who do not or refuse to understand. That's interesting. Maybe you should do some research on Anti-semitism as well. It's still pretty relevant today. There are more attacks on jews in France than any other attack on a religion. And the population of Jews in France is by far lower than the population of Muslim and Christians. Also the most anti-semitism in Europe is, and as much as I hate to say it now, committed by Muslims, because some (I said some, not all!!!) can't differ from the Israel conflict and the individual Jew like some people don't know to differ from the individual Muslim and ISIS.

I hate inequality and intolerance in the world, especially in the West which has more opportunities han various other parts in the world. Right now it seems like the people facing the most discrimination are Muslims. I wouldn't bet that Muslims are the most discriminated against. Jews, black people, atheists and gay people are still discriminated.

But I agree that discrimination needs to stop on an individual, but the right to criticize a religion needs to stay.

Well I am glad to hear your side of this. I just absolutely despise any discrimination on this site and misconceptions. That is why I am so protective of those experiencing prejudice. I feel Islam overall is a very strict religion, too, and that it needs to be reformed if it wishes to live in the West but the West first needs to respect the notion that not all Muslims are bad people and that those good Muslims will learn to fit in within Western ideology only when the West stops fearing Islam is going to take over. Many Muslims are not in the West to terrorize. They are here to live better loves and escape from their own respective governments which are more strict than they or for financial reasons. That's why my mother and father emmigrated to the US from Mexico. That's almost why any immigrants emigrate from their home country

Just happy to see your true opinions for once as well. Now, I know why you act like you do and now you know why I act like I do. I think this has been a great introspective for both of us

Pointless video.

Now I would like to see the same kind of video with a Priest or a Nun in an Islamic city (like Teheran or Islamabad) or a woman dressed with a very short skirt and small top and a large necked walking in a Islamic city alone.

Then the priest, nun, and s-xy girl would get killed by the public and the police wouldn't even stop it. Those Muslims are playing the West like idiots by using our freedom to kill us faster. Look at the Jihadist John that behead people on video. He lived in UK and came from a well-to-do family and have a computer engineering degree. He got money and education and what do we get back? Beheading! Down with Islam and Koran and the world will be a much better place!

What even? This is the definition ot stereotyping. I may not believe in the religion, but that gives you no right to bash it. Mind you, there are plenty of Muslim users here and imagine how they would feel reading your comment. It's rude and unnecessary, because you and I both know that not all muslims are like that. We also know that not all Christians are a ray of sunshine either. It's normal. ISIS is completely different. Although not as extreme, it's like saying all Christians are like the baptist church people which is not the case.

Is this statement true: If Islam and the Koran are vanished from the planet Earth and never heard of again, then we won't have ISIS and Islamic terrorism?

You are talking about 1,6 billion people on this planet and religion that is over 1400 years old. Are you talking about nuking all Muslim world??

It's interesting that you are the one approving of Iraq invasion which resulted in deaths of million people and which created groups like IS. You consider American sniper, a murderer of over 200 "dirty savage Iraqis" - as hero; how is he any different than Jihadi John? What kind of double standards. Terrorism won't disappear even if all religion disappears. Because there are clearly other factors involved. You are just being hateful.
