Born This Way has her best song ever but also her worst

Highway Unicorn being her best

Amen Fashion being her worst

So some people overrate it because they love the high's of the album so much that it make them forget about sub par songs while some underrate because of duds like Amen Fashion.

If Amen Fashion bother you, you can still buy the normal edition on iTunes. It's never too late to buy Born This Way.

And not you calling Amen Fashion the worst song when The Queen or Fashion of his Love exist.

Overrated from time to time? Yes, I can agree with that. Criminally overrated? No, sorry but I have to disagree with this one. Born This Way is among her best albums. Judas was meant to be a copy of Bad Romance and you can safely say BTW the song has similarities with Express Yourself and I don't think that many are trying to argue it.

A huge part of the praise, at least for me, is the fact that the album had enormous commercial success. Don't try to lie saying you don't care about sales and charts and that sh*t. Songs like Hair, Bloody Mary, Scheisse are true masterpieces and I listen to them even today.

ARTPOP is a great album with amazing tracks but it's not her best work in my honest opinion.

Here's the thing, everyone has their own opinion and everyone will think an album is better than the other, but we all have different taste. There really is no real BEST and WORST. Not every body likes the same things.

My name is yours! What's Probglum?

ARTPOP is her best album to date and is criminally underrated.

Her best album is The Fame. :emma:

ARTPOP sounded generic and didn't take any risks. BTW and TFM are her best work yet.

All I know is that BTW and ARTPOP are better than TF and TFM. The problem is that it isnt all about the music and TF and TFM had better eras with better performances and better videos.

Let's be honest, BTW was seen as a flop at the time by many due to the performance of all the singles bar 1. Since ARTPOP nosedived into a skip full of **** labelled "hot mess" BTW is a roaring success in comparison. The album was still seen by the people that "get it" as a game changing intricate album full of nostalgia and feeling.

problem is, I see a lot of people looking at it track by track, picking things apart... don't do that. If you know anything about writing, you'll know what a story arc is. BTW had an overarching story, like a novel, that was loosely based on gaga life in new York as a young woman, her experiences of repression and sacrifice, and her experience of dying having gone balls to the wall and done what you wanted to.

The album is even sonically thematic with its undeniable 1980s sound, the decade in which gaga was BORN.

The tracks are nods to how the musician was born, nods to Madonna, Springsteen, Queen, Whitney, even euro-rave and her growth as she references bad romance as an inspiration through Judas. She intended to reference Janet Jackson's rhythm nation with scheisse and Neil young heart of gold in you and I, numerous references to her parents raising her catholic, one of her favourite movies is rocky and teog  is...well...

There's just so much packed in that references so much oher stuff and suits the theme in various ways that you cannot deny the genius of the album. If you try, it's because you're not looking deep enough.  It's not about individual tracks, she isn't Arianna grande or Katy Perry.

Marry the Night as an opener sent chills down my body and it's probably my favorite song from her. BTW is one of the best pop albums I've ever listened to. I think TFM is an overall more consistent package, but its also only 8 tracks long and it had a lot less hype (so less disappointment) than BTW did.

The hype before BTW was unprecedented. It was bound to disappoint some people, especially since she went in a new direction, but it's a FANTASTIC record.

It's one of the best pop albums released (that I know of) in recent times imo, along with BEYONCE, TFM, 1989 and Pure Heroine. The work is just above anything that Gaga has ever produced, and I don't think she can top it, and if she can, it will certainly be another masterpiece.

Its both overrated and underrated by this fanbase, ex-fanbase, regular people, general pop stans, etc. I think some fans overrate it because they attached themselves so whole-heartedly to her within that era and the matriarch position she was attempting to take. They spent so much time and energy avidly defending it and her from the haters that once it was over they could like jump ship or whatever with the next one while adamantly continuing to defend btw. Then theres the ex-stans that swear quality is non-existent on the album when its simply not true. The album to me is half and half, theres high highs and low lows. Some people love the highs and overlook the lows and other people just focus on the lows and act like the highs don't exist. And the album is so long and bipolar that everyone favors/dislikes different things about it. Those people are the ones that underrate the album because they dont even bother to acknowledge the true unused smashes that exist on it. Regular people and general pop stans are usually pretty ignorant to album cuts and only pay attention to the singles. Its easy to understand why regular people would underrate the album because the singles weren't really all that. I don't know. Born This Way was just flamboyant and grand in every way possible from its reception to the music to the look, just everything. So its worth a ramble.
