I disagree, I don't see any point going after geriatrics 70 years after the fact. Guy would have been age 12-24 during Nazi era, perfect age for indoctrination. Do Nazi hunters keep lowering the bar for the types they will prosecute just to keep it going? I bet they didn't prosecute people like him in 1945-55 because they would have had to lock up hundreds of thousands if they went after everyone involved with the SS or the death camps. You can't treat every little person who was just obeying orders of an evil regime like a murderer. Anyway, the Allies and people after the war were wise not to. I know what he was part of was unquestionably evil, but I don't how much he can be held accountable. He was a young medic, not and officer or someone of authority, and more likely a pawn in all of this. With all the propaganda and him being so young, he was likely easily lead on; lets remember the world was completely different back then and didn't have the same perspective it does now. I also don't know how effective jailing him is. It doesn't offer retribution or ease the pain to those who remain, I doubt anything could. It doesn't make the world safer. It doesn't punish him. It serves little purpose. I'm not saying it is right or wrong to jail him, just that I can't sit here and pass judgement on a man for his actions he made a long, long time ago in a very different world.
