I know that my health ins. bill has gone up and deductables are bigger.

Like they are sayn' it has helped some people, but made things worse for others.

Again, the rich aren't really affected.

Also, insurance companies are taking advantage of the 'mandatory' revenue that has been stipulated and aren't competing for customers. Hence, prices keep going up.

My family is paying more now too since the law went into effect. I see how this is good for some, but it isn't good for my family.

This is what happens when you have all these private insurance companies no longer competing as much for customers. They are just gonna hike up the prices.

I watch Bill Maher and I've never seen him as a "champion" of Obamacare as the article states. He's always stated that Obamacare, while an improvement from the previous system, was not the solution because it was too friendly to insurance companies and that what America needs is a single payer system, which is basically what he said in this clip. He's not "changing his tone" at all.

The insurance companies are still competing; I dunno why you'd say that. And overall prices have not gone up -- or rather, they have, but at a lower year-to-year rate than they had been doing (a rate much higher than overall inflation), so they're lower than what they would've been without the ACA. Of course, this doesn't speak to individual situations; and with almost any reform, not everyone is going to benefit. But as a policy, you can only evaluate it statistically.

The real beneficiaries of Obamacare are the poor people not working which will get free health insurance, and the people that crank out 5 to 8 kids but can't afford to take care of them but Obamacare will cover them for free too. Also, it benefits people that are really sick and have a previous medical condition who has not save enough money to take care of themselves so now they rely on other healthy people paying premiums but rarely use the services.

So the people that are screwed are the healthy people that's working but have to pay into a health system that they will rarely use. How about we allow people to put that $4K/year of health insurance into an IRA which the people can take out when they need for healthcare? Most healthy people would rather do that than waste $4K/year on insurance that they may not need, but Obama want to take their money and give it the poor people and sick people.

its not just the Federal Cost or premiums. U gotta take into account what its doing to the economy and private sector

Weve had a disporportionately high number of jobs being created being part time. Job creation has accelerated the past 1-2 years but so much is part-time and thats probably why total job creation is up cause companies are splittig positions into 2. Many ppl need 2 jobs now to make the same amount of money

Companies dont wanna have to cover workers to they hire part-time now if they can. Its not healthy. We were warned this would happen but nobody listened. Its like ppl didnt believe greedy companies wouldnt try to get around Obama care with more part-timers

I think it would of been better off to just increase funding to medicaid and expand the number of ppl that are qualified to use it. Obama care is doing too much damage :MANiCURE:

Not in the sense that they are trying to get more customers. They know that people are forced to pay for insurance or be penalized. So why should they try to offer better service for a lower price.

Thank God I am living in Germany, where nearly every employee is automatically in health insurance coverage.

People are forced to get insurance, but not from any particular provider. There are still multiple insurance providers rivaling for each customer. Saying that they aren't competing is like saying grocery stores don't compete because everyone has to eat.

Okay, thats fine. But there are no cost balancing regulations. And the competition is for mass quanitiy not quality, which is the point. Obamacare needs to be tweaked to fullfill the orginal promises or scraped for and impoved system. Currently, the red tape and obvious regulatory shortcomings means that the middle class is getting the shaft. *again*

Not at the expensive of healthy hard-working people since those people may want to put $4K/year into an IRA or a Health Saving Plan for their use. If that person stay healthy that year, that $4K in insurance premium is lost forever, while the IRA and Health Saving Plan would grow year after year for them to use for whatever needs. In 10 years, those people would have $40K (more with dividends & interest) in their IRA and Health Saving Plan. Obama is a multi-millionaire but he's getting free health insurance from the government. LOL

Mostlikely the profits from medicine and exams and and and and ... go right into the doctor or administrators vacation fund.
