She's not forcing the author / anyone involved in the process of writing the book / producing the film to stop doing what they do, she just simply stated her opinion about it, that's all. :rip:

That was the original point that member was trying to make.

And I stated mine, that is all, again. If you're going to defend Madonna's right to have an opinion, defend mine as well while you're at it. We all have opinions and so do you. Let it go.

*I just thought you were trying to open a discussion, after all a dicussion is just a bunch of opinions that contradict each other & everyone has the right to have his/her own opinion.

Fair enough. My opinion contradicts hers. I just see the whole 50 Shades of Grey enterprise in a different light due to future potential in society and entertainment. In a way, Madonna helped to usher society to this point, by being a major voice for this sort of thing, so I figured she would at least like where movies like this come from.

I also can see why she would find attributes in the book unrealistic, based on her own experiences. However, I'm just saying that reality is stranger than fiction in that it isn't everything we expect all the time. There could very well be numerous guys out there who like giving oral, but how would we know for sure unless those individuals came forward to express about it?

A discussion is only possible when at least two people are trying to discuss something. I didn't even read that because truth be told I have no interest in discussing this. I just posted that because I wanted, whether it was the truth or not. Glad you guys got butt-hurt over something so random and ridiculous as that post, it just proves how insecure you feel about her career.

You are an idiot.

*EDIT*

I got a bloody Warning Point for calling you an idiot, even though you actually are one. A ****ed up idiot, to be precisely!

So glad that celebrities famous for supporting s-x are actually coming out AGAINST the book. I've been disappointed that so many celebrities who I thought were smart have been raving about it, so it's a relief to know that Madonna hasn't fallen for it. If even she, as a middle aged woman, the prime market for this book, isn't impressed with it, I have some faith that womankind hasn't gone totally mad. I'm glad she pointed out that the book could only appeal to someone who's never had s-x. I'm a virgin and even I know that the s-x in this book is completely unrealistic. Going from virgin to s-x goddess in one swift move? Doing it over and over again without getting sore? Having multiple orgasms every single session? If E L James was completely anonymous, I'd think this was an amateur smut piece written by a virginal teenager. But she's actually a middle aged married woman with two kids! How is it possible that she is this unaware of how s-x works? If she wants to write pure escapism fantasy smut, fine, but 50 Shades is clearly meant to be taken seriously and taken as a regular story alongside the s-x. So, the s-x has to be realistic.

Why does s-x have to be portrayed as reality? 50 Shades is a fiction, not a documentary. Many action and horror movies and stories have many unrealistic situations, any military veteran or scientist would tell you. However, movies and stories aren't bound by the three dimensions we live in. Movies are an escape, meant to entertain. People say the same thing about adult entertainment. However, does that stop people from watching them and glamorizing them?

Even many romance movies portray situations that would be unrealistic in real life, due to many factors most movies hardly cover.

If people want the real thing, that is what life is all about, experience. If you want the real thing, go experience it.

It's ironic, because Madonna was all about expressing yourself and being free. Though 50 Shades of Grey may be fantasy, isn't it interesting how erotica and extremely s-xual themes have made to the mainstream? There are two veins of this, the s-xual reality of those who experience s-x in conventional and unconventional ways on the increase and the level of s-xual fantasy that has been brought out by a generation who grew up with numerous forms of adult entertainment, from young to older generations. Fantasy will not always match up with reality, but it certainly has been a driving force in the minds of those who crave entertainment like this 50 Shades. Where books and entertainment will go from here after the success of this enterprise is yet to be seen.

:trootea: I read the 50 shades books. Any mature person knows the difference between fantasy and reality. 50 shades of Grey is fictional. I don't take any of it serious. I think the writing is pretty bad. It's just something to read to pass the time. It's like fluff reading.  I saw the film and I think the movie is better than the books. It isn't the best movie ever but it isn't as terrible as I think people are making it out to be. I don't think anyone is being forced to see this movie or like the books. If people enjoy these books and movie, that's their business. It isn't bothering me. I don't like Star Wars, so I won't go to see Star Wars and complain about it.

The comment is stupid. The books are works of fiction. Its like reading a Harry Potter book and saying, I didn't like it because no one is really a wizard. In her s-x book she is hitch hiking naked, how many people do that?
