Oh really? I've only seen advertisements everywhere and people raving (or maybe it was ranting) about the book for at least a year now. Thank you for educating me.

Not really. They are talking about it just because it was controversial. It is like Twilight, huge sales and impact but everyone hates them. Except that Twilight was by far better but still not as good, it was also the book that inspired FSOG

Wow I didn't know that Twilight inspired FSOG. I like Twilight, but I can see why a lot of people hated it. :spin:

It didn't just inspire it. FSOG actually began as fanfiction, she had even posted them on fanfiction.net before she made her own website. And the charachter names, Christian and Ana, were actually Bella and Edward in the original draft. If you read FSOG, you would easily find that she copied most parts of the story, and even the writing style. El James the author is such a theif tbh :manicure: Stephenie Meyer should sue her.

I kinda liked Twilight too ( only the books tho and the first movie ). The writing was obviously bad. But it was enteraining enough tbh.

It was entertaining enough and easy to relate to most of the characters, or at least understand them in my opinion.

I didn't know all of that about FSOG. What a mess. :lmao:

So glad that celebrities famous for supporting s-x are actually coming out AGAINST the book. I've been disappointed that so many celebrities who I thought were smart have been raving about it, so it's a relief to know that Madonna hasn't fallen for it. If even she, as a middle aged woman, the prime market for this book, isn't impressed with it, I have some faith that womankind hasn't gone totally mad. I'm glad she pointed out that the book could only appeal to someone who's never had s-x. I'm a virgin and even I know that the s-x in this book is completely unrealistic. Going from virgin to s-x goddess in one swift move? Doing it over and over again without getting sore? Having multiple orgasms every single session? If E L James was completely anonymous, I'd think this was an amateur smut piece written by a virginal teenager. But she's actually a middle aged married woman with two kids! How is it possible that she is this unaware of how s-x works? If she wants to write pure escapism fantasy smut, fine, but 50 Shades is clearly meant to be taken seriously and taken as a regular story alongside the s-x. So, the s-x has to be realistic.

A discussion is only possible when at least two people are trying to discuss something. I didn't even read that because truth be told I have no interest in discussing this. I just posted that because I wanted, whether it was the truth or not. Glad you guys got butt-hurt over something so random and ridiculous as that post, it just proves how insecure you feel about her career.

I think her career is going very well, even in its 3rd decade :)

I just don't like it when people do not appreciate the immense cultural impact she has had over the past deacde :)

Have a lovely day
