teo 609
Remember when Indonesian Islamist thugs were offended by Gaga? How long before they start going after pop stars in Europe as a symbol of everything they hate about the West? It wouldn't surprise me. And I just hate how some b---hes here will be like "sure it's wrong to kill people, BUT" and then they'll go on a 500 word monologue about how sensitive they think muslims are. Like no, they are not and you are crazy. Stop getting your life lessons from tumblr. I work with so many muslims and they don't care about this ****. If y'all like to surround yourselves with religious fanatics and this makes you think this is a norm, let me tell you something - it is not. Just like Jesus has been the punch line of thousands jokes and nobody goes ballistic over it. Normal people don't get murderous over divine beings. And if you're from the 0.0001% who do can you go away already, cause normal people(atheists, chirstians and muslims) are getting tired of y'all. If a drawing offends you THAT much in the worst case you go and sue, but if it makes you feel murderous tendencies you don't have a place in society. Period. Period. This is what I think. I don't care how offended I am I will NEVER go on a shooting spree over it. If you feel the need to KILL over an offense, you should seek psychiatric help because it is NOT normal. There is no way to rationalize it. Even if it's the most offensive thing that can be done in your religion, I highly doubt ANY sane person goes out and kills people over it. No way. This is why these extremists are INSANE and should not be pleased by our fear.

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
Hopefully, this will show not to draw offensive caricutures of religious figures. Such figures are sensitive, especially to Muslims. There is a limit to freedom of speech before it becomes offensive and susceptible to conflict. Although, this attack just goes to show how one mistake will follow you for the rest of your life and how no religion is either wrong or right. It has become apparent that no place is safe from terrorism but promoting hypocrisy is no way to resolve the problem I think Muslims have a lot more to be worried about though. Like trying to rid the bias of what Islam is. I don't see other religions freaking out as much about satire and freedom of speech (subjective though). Like trying to rid the bias of what Islam is. I don't see other religions freaking out as much about satire and freedom of speech (subjective though).Well, that's because in other religions, such figureheads as Muhammad have been depicted in full form throughout history. What makes Islam unique is that it never really has depicted Muhammad except in shroudy and hard to identify detail. Muslims don't even show his face because, for one, they don't know what he looks like, and secondly, Muhammad stated he did not want his image to be created because he would far he would be idolized. He didn't want that as he felt the main focus of Islam were his prophetic messages and those of others and a strong faith with God, not Muhammad as he is not divine. That's why it is so offensive to draw Muhammad for Muslims. Christians have depicted Jesus throughout history and Christians idolize Jesus and God which causes confusion as to why it is wrong to depict Muhammad
UC PiXELVISION 353
Is it offensive to Muslims to see people draw Muhammed? Yes. Should people be stopped from doing what they want to as long as they aren't physically hurting someone? NO! I come from a Muslim family, & I was raised to believe the words "Live & Let Live". If someone does something that offends you, you have NO right to try and kill them. 500 people attend the KILLER's funeral in copenhagen.http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/20/copenhagen-shooting-funeral-gunman?CMP=share_btn_tw What the absolute F*U*C*Kery
uo111 5,282
And being on a Lady Gaga fansite arguing with a user named Gypsiss and another garnite is not ridiculous when said aloud. Fighting Muslims to be respected because even the good Muslims are seen in a bad light by many. I wonder if you yourself are minority because you would not understand the various double standards that exists for many minorities, including my own. Even when Muslims or minorities abide by the constructs of society, many of them face oppression by the majority for trying to be like them and disgust by the minority group. Lack of respect and acceptance results in revolution and the more that isdone to subjugate Muslims or any minority, the more resistance to the norm there will be. The Ferguson riots occurred as a result of years of bottled up racial tensions and the Charlie Hebdo attacks out of years of portraying Muhammad in a negative light. In the eyes of the majority, the little things that minorities care about are overlooked and are sometimes exploited for entertainment. A reaction is inevitable The Ferguson riots occurred because of actual effects happening to black people in America. Not because someone painted a picture and they just couldn't handle it. This is pathetic. No one has a right to respect, and religious ideas are no exception. Everyone is disrespected. So no one cares how "disrespected" they feel. They can get over it like everyone else. It's like if someone harasses you and people like you but those who harass and mock you are not held accountable and are sometimes supported by others. That's also what happened with Ferguson. The tension just built up until it just had to release. That's what happened with the Charlie Hebdo incident. No one has the right to be disrespected and all should be respected. Every single person on this forum knows what it means to be disrespected. Yet we (most of us anyways) still support free speech. And we don't kill the creators of these images. And you are trying to tell me that they are so disrespected that them murdering is some obvious consequence of drawing a picture of someone who supposedly lived centuries ago? I know many of us have been disrespected and discriminated against but that drawing and the ones that followed were catalysts. The Civil Rights movement was catalysted because Rosa Parks would not give up her seat on a bus. WWI was initiated as a result of King Ferdinand's assassination. That misrepresentation of Muhammad was a catalyst for the attacks and attacks since. Obviously, many Muslims were able to shake off that picture although it was highly disrespectful. However, there are extremists who were outraged by it and its continued publication. Lives were lost all because of that portrayal of Muhammad. It sounds ridiculous but people should know when the line has been crossed. People think just because they have freedom of speech they can abuse it however they wish which they technically can but it's morally wrong. The West is gifted with free speech but many of us abuse it on many occasions and fail to see the consequences. Don't just assume all Muslims just wanted to take part in the attacks because that is false. Like I said, the majority of Muslims were able to bear the ridicule of their prophet and protest it methodically but there exists a minute percentage of Muslims which are extremists who do not truly follow Muhammad's word and go to drastic and unnecessary measures
