TD has aggressively tried to get into the US market in some of the States to expand its earnings. TD has an impressive profit margin of 26% of revenue and has grown its asset values by an average of 12% per year!

Love being one if their customers Also, slay that they openly support LGBT to the point where theyve used advertizement adds with gay couples looking for a mortgag and lines if credit etc. None of the other major Canadian Banks have had the balls to do something like that yet :coffee:
Economy 52,861
Oh no... Canada is gonna own the U.S. pretty soon...the only things Canada has greatly invaded the US market more with in the last 10 years is in the Energy Sector and Financial Sector thats it Oh and singers. So many famous people are from Canada, more than most ppl realize. But they all end up moving to the US so that doesnt even truly count Over-all, way more retailers and businesses from the US manage to invade Canada than the otherway around I think with banks and the financial sector that was the only exeption cause our banks didnt fail in 2008 and they took advantag of cheap deals to buy up forein assets (especially TD which is expanding out of Canada like a monster) Our 12 year housing boom, as well as oil companies borrowing for expansion also provided our banks with lots of profits, but both the overheated housing and oil industry thats now enduring low oil prices are both set to slow. So lets see what happens to 2015 and 2016 earnings :flop:

Economy 52,861
I think that too big banks aren't a good thing. Imagine if it falls... it would have a terrible effect on the world economy.Canada is dominated by big banks. The 5 largest banks make up 90% of Canadas financial system. They nickname them "The Big 5" Theres RBC and TD which are both around the same size battling it out for the title but TD is obviously gonna win... Then theres Bank Of Montreal (BMO), CIBC and Scotia Bank which are a bit smaller but all between $550 to $650 Billion in size which is still huge for a Country with our population And its true if they fail its a bigger deal. But big banks are less likely to fail than small banks to begin with. Also Canadas financial system is extremely hard to break. Cash reserve requirements and who gets a loan is very strict here as well as downpayment rules etc. Its one of the few sectors our Conservative Government hasnt deregulated. In fact Canada won as having the best baking system in the world 4 years in a row now. A financial meltdown here is extremely unlikely. They say even if our housing bubble popped and home prices fell 50% (worst case scenario) and defaukt rates went way up, our banks altho theyd suffer they still wouldnt need a bailout :gaga:
