The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France announced that a ceasefire would begin on 15 February. The deal, announced after 17 hours of talks, also involves a withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line. The leaders said Ukraine's pro-Russian rebels had signed it. Thousands of people have been killed in the fighting in eastern Ukraine. French President Francois Hollande said he and German Chancellor Angela Merkel would ask their European Union partners to support the agreement at a summit later in the day. Pretty much like the US/NATO have decided which government could remain in Iraq and Libya by waging wars and military operations against them. The operations there turned out to be a disaster, with that ISIS growing in Iraq left by american troops, and Libya being on the brink of civil war with western countries closing their diplomatic missions and evacuating their citizens as the security situation is deteriorating further. Russia sees the hand of the White House in the change of power which took place in Ukraine last year, and that is why they have acted aggressively, because, in their opinion, Washington decided to act dangerously close to Russian national and economical borders by supporting, instructing and funding the armed protesters in Kiev last year. Pretty much like the House of Representatives approved US arms for Syrian rebels in September last year, Putin started arming the rebels in Ukraine. The difference is that he is doing it secretly, so that even the satellites can get no proof confirmed by the OSCE or UN that the separatist weapons are being supplied by Russian side. Don't get me wrong - I am not supporting any side in this conflict. In fact, I think that what they achieved today should have been achieved months earlier, and would have saved thousands of lives. It makes me wonder what took them so long before they were finally able to meet, when each day both, soldiers and civilians are dying there from both sides. But Russian actions causing so much fuss in the media when it happens in Europe despite the fact that US and NATO have long practiced such strategies in the Middle East and Africa makes it kind of hypocritical. The IMF promised a loan to Ukraine which is worth $40 billion. The Ukrainian government needs this program, otherwise they may announce default this year. The IMF programs, however, are not eligible for the countries which are in the state of war, that's why there is a chance that this time all of the sides of the conflict are interested in sticking to the agreement. And this is not kindergarten, you can't justify your country's wrong doings just cause somebody did it too. So many people died in Ukraine, so please don't come here making excuses for Russia, especially if you're gonna use US/NATO as your argument, cause they didn't started this ****. Also nobody needs satellites to confirm that Putin's been giving the separatists weapons, like we all know they didn't grow them on trees.
