Was Telephone inspired by Hung Up?

So I was just listening to Hung Up (I'm bopping to Confessions as a whole right now) and what caught my attention is how similar the themes/premises of Telephone and Hung Up are.

I'm not talking about the videos. I'm talking about the songs themselves lyrically. Using telephones metaphorically and what not.

I think it is very possible since Gaga was a huge fan and it's not a bad thing. I'm not Telephone's biggest fan (I think it's overrated as a song just because it has a great video) but it is very much it's own thing so it's not reductive or anything of that nature. What do you guys think? :reductive:

reaching

I actually don't think I'm really reaching that far. They are both dance pop and lyrically similar. Like I said it's not a bad thing. They are their own entities.

i always thought this

I honestly just noticed it today. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks this. :P

I don't hear the similarities. And anyway, "Hung Up" is itself a reworking of "Gimme Gimme Gimme" by ABBA.

there is nothing similar , only because madonna says ring ring ring that dose not make the themes similar.

I always felt like the strings synth in chorus was hugely inspired by ABBA
