Ever since she appeared on the pop music stage in 2008 many people used to tell she has changed the game etc.

What exactly Gaga has changed in your opinion? Maybe nothing, only made pop music more relevant? Discuss.

I think her biggest influence isn't in music. It's in her bringing the crazy visuals not only to videos, but stars also started dressing up crazy to the red carpet and the street. That has faded tho.

Darker/crazy visuals and fashion for sure. She brought a lot of theatricality back to live performances and concerts. I don't think she brought electronic music to the mainstream again, but she definitely solidified it's place as the reigning style in pop during the early 2010's

Music by 2008 was tragic

She:

 - made dance music a thing, opened the doors for EDM to take over festivals and mainstream music

 - completely changed the way musicians look at the visual aspect of their image and artistry

 - brought high fashion to music industry

Making Pop Dance music trendy again for the new decade

to the point it becomes overkill today

and people getting sick of it

and choose to take simpler route and more organic sounds again,

as of early of 2015. :fan:

Just like everyone said, the visuals. From the fashion to the performances to the videos... She definitely brought that back.

Musically, she was a huge part of bringing electronic/dance to pop, but I don't think she was single handedly responsible for it. I'd say she was a huge influence in the whole movement, though.

The way visuals were brought to the Pop world.

Her visuals, not as much  now, but definitely for years.  G.U.Y. is a bloated video, with cheeziness.  But earlier videos, magnificent, as were her all of her visual in every area of her career.

The electronic pop nature to her songs.

Amazingly crafted pop songs when she came out with The Fame//The Fame Monster.  She had a way with lyrics, not your usual pop lyrics in so many of her songs.  Yet, there was still such heart to her music.  The melodies and hooks and soundscapes to the songs were out of this world.

Her vocals weren't sugary sweet vocals.  She had a very strong sound to her vocals. She was very unique in delivery and how she chose to enunciate and deliver her lyrics and in many songs had  a bad-ass delivery.

Her story line to her concerts, taking people on a journey, such theatricality.

Her changing looks were exciting in the first few years.  People are kind of over it now because she does it to such a degree they are numb to it.  But those first few years, it was exciting to see what she was going to do next, and had a great team executing her looks.  I think mystery is important and exciting.  When you bombard people with it, changing right and left, not even cohesive with it, after a while it's not that interesting, except for hardcore fans.

She was different in every way to any other of her pop peers or the pop landscape in general for years, but above all she had the great pop songs to back it up.

I had just been listening to early music this morning, so it was easy to recall back why she was fresh and what she brought.and how she shook up the pop industry in in a massive way.  The impact was huge.
