Coop 15,354
My opinion represents a faction of her fan base who feels the same way I do. Your opinion represents a fraction of her fan base who feels the same way you do. Both points of view are valid and worthy of sharing. I would never tell you to "gtfo and leave" and I expect the same courtesy in return. If you are this annoyed and worked up by different opinions maybe a forum isn't the healthiest place for you. My disappointment with Gaga's jazz projects is there lack of innovation, I will continue to share different aspects of that opinion whenever it is relevant to do so. In this case I was expressing a disappointment in their choice to cover Cole Porter. I can rarely be annoyed, especially on the internet, but yes, it happens. I'm not talking only about you, I saw several posts like "burning my stan card" on the first few pages of this thread. All I'm saying is, if people don't like Gaga singing jazz then why bother and post about it? This era started in September and they're here all the time saying how they don't like this, they don't like that, they hate Jazzga etc. and they spread negativity (and sometimes annoy me and make me look negative). And it's obvious that jazz makes Gaga happy. If they don't like it, they should just wait for a new pop era. And sorry for being b---hy at the beginning. GagaStefi 1,231
Gaga has her soft intro: "Heaven, I'm in heaven. And my heart beats so, that I can hardly speak. And I seem to find, that happiness, I seek. When we're out together, GRINDING CHEEK TO CHEEK" *cue intro music to DWUW*

Chic 20,830
Jazz supremacist fans can **** off. If a restaurant specializes in Italian cuisine and then starts making Greek for two years, of ****ing course people are going to want the Italian back, it doesn't make people any less sophisticated for their preference. I bet that feather in your cap feels nice just because you happen to like jazz. Gaga can do whatever she wants, yes. I did not like the type of jazz she did (except for Lush Life) and people can express their distaste for it if they want. Get over it.
Whispering 18,865
Lmao, nobody cares about your ****ing stan cards. GTFO if you don't like this. Exactly! Even more interesting is the people who are always threatening to "burn their stan cards" never do! They keep hanging around, whining and complaining, and making empty threats! In this case I was expressing a disappointment in their choice to cover Cole Porter. I'm hoping this is a stepping stone for her to find her own original jazz voice and gain confidence in the genre. I love these old tunes but would love to see Gaga in more of a Diane Krall or Norah Jones role, but more avant Garde. This is a perfect starting place though to get people to take her more seriously outside pop.
Jenniferella 2,774
I don't know why people get so offended by this, they already said they'd make multiple albums together and Gaga seemed in a hurry for those albums. I just hope it makes her happy. "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"

I love these old tunes but would love to see Gaga in more of a Diane Krall or Norah Jones role, but more avant Garde. This is a perfect starting place though to get people to take her more seriously outside pop. I hope you are right. It feels to me that her venture into jazz music is more about validation of her talent and making some coin, but if she can use it as a stepping stone for more interesting projects that would be amazing. An avant garde Diane Krall or Melody Gardot take on jazz would be cool, something more political and clever like Nellie McKay would be interesting, a danceable jazz collaboration with Moon Hooch would be interesting, even just a solo piano record with no vocals to really test her chops would be awesome…but another collection of flaccid standards is just so…basic. When it comes to pop music we hold Gaga to a high standard, when it comes to jazz music would should do the same. But, lets cross our fingers that you are right. Maybe she just needs to gain some confidence in herself with Cole Porter before she takes on more experimental projects.
Zilla 13,410
It may be a good thing a pop album isn't on the horizon. She will have more time to write and perfect it. I just don't understand how some refuse to support her. It's not Burger King, you can't have it your way 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊 𝚓𝚘𝚛𝚝𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚓𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚜 𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕.
