Americans not caring and demonstrating often too much ignorance about what's going in other part of the world make it hard to swallow all the decisions they take that have an impact on other countries. But it just seems that at the end what matters is only the interest of the US (which is obvious) however as a country they don't seem to really care so much about other cultures and want to impose their vision of what should be democracy, what shoudl be freedom and such which is quite condescending seriously. Oh and I can't believe what they say about most EU citizen backing up the free trade deal, that's just bull****, they are just hidinga ll te information because people would never accept it. Just for example in France the average citizen would be totally against GMO and so what would happen with that deal? And since we only have two neighboring countries, the decisions of other nations don't make a direct impact on us or make HUGE news unless you watch CNN a lot (I do). For example a good friend of mine from France spent a year in the Us he said he met the most welcoming and kind people but he can't understand how they can make such terrible political decision together I mean Georges Bush... But either way Dems and Reps both have similar missions abroad so their decisions around the world will be similar no matter who is voted into the Presidency. And about the ignorant and uncultured part.... well, here there are people from all over the world. Those who CHOOSE to be ignorant is because they don't expose themselves to many people or live in some small town where there's only the same type of people. I personally have white, Mexican, and Pakistani Muslim neighbors which I interact with. There is no excuse if you live in a big city. But you also have to remember that in Europe it's a lot of countries in close proximity. Here it's only us and Canada above, and Mexico below. I imagine in Europe the decisions made around all European nations is talked about more since you all have a more direct impact on each other. For example, if France was attacked by the UK or something (lol, that would never happen), of course it would be all over Europe making headlines. It is when in our schools and public places are taking off (because muslim people demanded) the crucifixes (that is a culture symbol not only religious), Xmas Three, Nativity Scene and Ham-Salami from canteen because they're elements that not belong to their tradition, but it belongs to our, but a majority of those people don't care, it's important respect their things but not the European ones in which they choose to live.
