Bebe is 100% correct. These guys aren't idiots. They want panic, they want anxiety and public pressure on governments which will only make things so much worse (meaning: better for them). The only solutions are (1) not watching; (2) not treating it as something shocking and choosing to discuss other topics surrounding this whole issue. Actually their killings are pretty basic compared to the mind-bending torture programs of the CIA for example. Then it pretended he was still alive and tried to trick Jordan into exchanging prisoners for him. Then it posted the video of his fiery death for the whole world to see, complete with grotesque close-ups and gloating narration. ISIS displayed the video on giant screens in its territory and posted video of people’s reactions to it. The atrocity has backfired for at least two reasons. One is that the victim was Muslim. The other is that in Islamic teaching, death by fire is a judgment reserved for Allah. To burn a man alive isn’t just sickening. It’s blasphemous. Now the “Islamic State†has earned the condemnation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and even some jihadist Sunni clerics. ISIS read the book and interpreted it their own way and call it islam so i'm going to call it the same thing. do i think all muslims are like that? of course no i mean if they were this whole planet would turn to rubble.
