craig 680
Boring is in now (Adele-Lana-Sheeran-Smith). None of the dance pop girls who got automatic hit after hit in 2008-12 will do so now. They have to try new stuff, and sometimes it won't work.

The Child 18,997
People would buy anything just because it has the name Rihanna on it. Pathetic. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Ray of Light 8,134
People would buy anything just because it has the name Rihanna on it. Pathetic. If anything, you're complimenting Rihanna. She has star power. Her name sells. Many other pop stars can't do the same. Even though I must admit that the reaction to this single has been underwhelming. But her singles are always growers, so we'll see.
JaysAMess 27,843
People would buy anything just because it has the name Rihanna on it. Pathetic. Aren't you the user who wished something bad would happen to Rihanna, so that she wouldn't be able to release music? I think that's pathetic tbh. You're vile. craig 680
Lana isn't "in" and Adele hasn't released in years Adele started the trend. Since 2011 all the new stars with big sales have been down tempo ballady mode. Lana was the biggest album seller of 2012 in UK, and last year it was Ed S and Sam S. No more new dance-pop divas (except as one hit wonders or pop-rap collabs). While established dance-pop girls have ALL fallen short of expectations except a certain country crossover star. blacklistedd 599
I kind of hate how Rihanna is looking like a generalized version of FKA twigs in that pic but on another note, this song is gonna smash if she performs it on the Grammys if she backs it with an awesome performance Hope Tony doesn't show her up by wearing the same thing as Rhenna to the Cheek to Cheek Ball, aka the Grammys Wtf? Where do you get FKA twigs from a simple grunge-esque slicked back style with an oversized top? Its just whats in vogue right now. And to be honest Rihanna has been hyperstylized in videos and shoots before. I think what makes FKA Twigs unique is her face itself. Lana isn't "in" LOL im sorry I love Lana but I cringe everytime one of her fans swears shes this non-mainstream entity. Shes very popular and honestly quite commercial, shes just not on the radio. That doesn't make her underground or even that under the radar. Lana is not boring. She can be pretty one dimensional and monotonous. But thats another conversation for another thread or a private message.

blacklistedd 599
I'm allowed to compare whatever I want And if you want to compare them lets: I don't care how long each had, in technical terms, Applause sold more in its first week than FourFive Seconds And Born This Way and FourFive Seconds' released are actually pretty comparable. Both released were HIGHLY anticipated for, by both fans and the GP. They're not that comparable. Born This Way's anticipation was astronomical and Gaga was considered this ultimate pop star at the time that was supposedly coming out with this game changing record. Rihannas releasing FourFiveSeconds has been anticipated but much more casually. Drastically actually. And I don't mean that negatively, but you just can't compare them. FourFiveSeconds was released basically by surprise and its sort of a new sound for her so to me its understandable why its not racing to the top of the charts. Its doing as I would expect it to. I wasn't saying that like it's a good thing I wish she was more popular, she deserves it. But lest be real, Lana's biggest hit was a remix
