These ar few sick people who are not a good representation of the largest country in the world.

Extremist people are everywhere. This happes in the UK daily:

And its so fking funny how western people feel so concerned about Russia and rights here (when most people are comfortable with the government here) but not about China (the country where even internet is censored) where over 70% western companies have factories.

I get the impression from the first hand. I dont like when people who have never been Russia are judging Russia just based on western medias.

sure

i hope you see the light one day and see what's really going on

BTW it's so worrisome that you rather talk about LGBT rights in Russia (which is obviously an important topic) than about the true meaning of today ceremony

Is that the UK? They say massacre those who insult islam? And they live there legally? :duck:

Looks like I ain't gonna step foot in the UK for a while now.

sadly these things do happen but he's completely wrong about the DAILY part, these rarely happen tbh and when they do we don't allow it to get too far ahead of itself, the worst thing that's happened here in the past 2 years is a man who murdered muslim men & woman which is appalling ofc but it's not a DAILY occurrence like homophobia is in Russia

(and NO i'm not saying that I overlook the murders of those islamic people im just stating they don't happen daily)

Recently, Russia has received worldwide attention for their legal treatment of LGBT citizens in recent years and has been referred to as one of the worst human rights violations in the post-Soviet era. Since 2006, numerous regions in Russia have enacted varying laws restricting the distribution of materials promoting LGBT relationships to minors; in June 2013, a federal law criminalizing the distribution of LGBT "propaganda" among minors was enacted as an amendment to an existing child protection law. The law has resulted in the numerous arrests of Russian LGBT citizens publicly opposing the law and there has reportedly been a surge of homophobic propaganda, violence, and even hate crimes, many of whom use the law as justification. It has received international criticism from human rights observers, LGBT activists, and media outlets and has been viewed as de facto means of criminalizing LGBT culture.[5] Russian historian and human rights activist Lyudmila Alexeyeva has called it “a step toward the Middle Ages.†On December 29, 2014, Russia received more criticism after enacting a road safety law that classified transs-xualismâ€â€among other “s-xual disordersâ€â€â€as a mental condition that can prevent a person from being able to hold a driver’s license.

You cannot deny that what happens to gay people in Russia is wrong, a violation of human rights and utterly disgusting. Period.

The city of Moscow denied 100 requests for permission to hold Moscow Pride through 2112, citing the risk of violence against participants and upholding the one-hundred year ban against gay pride parades.

Sounds familiar to me. If you have not noticed, Jewish people, the political opposition, gay, disabled and many more minorities in Nazi Germany were given "Schutzhaft" or preventive detention, with the Nazi regime arguing they wanted to protect those people from violence and cruelty they might experience from just living their lives and the threat of being attacked on the streets. We know where that ended, they got shipped off to concentration camps and death camps like Auschwitz.

Why the hell would that by worrisome? Gay people were specifically sent to death & concentration camps along with every other marginalized minority, that's a fact. Why should we not think of that too? Why not talk about how things are starting to repeat themselves? It feels wrong to invite somebody who is so avid to disrespect homos-xuals and starts re-criminalizing them to an event that is there to commemorate them as well.

it's ok to be a nationalist  and have pride in your country by all mean but it isn't ok to be deluded into believing if Putin was to fall into horse **** he'd come up smelling of roses.

and you're trying to change the subject

Am I deluded ? Probably (I believe everyone is deluded to certain level). But the fact that we believe in our country and stick together is why Russia has been one of the strongest country for centuries. The total lack of any nationalism in western countries is questioning and will probably have deep consequences (also considering the recent issues).

Comparing banning gay parades (which are not banned only in russia) to concentration camps, lol.

politics effects laws & economy mostly, if ur not nationalist it doesn't matter, what matters is if you're doing something morally acceptable or not, and actually the majority of people in my family & friends are very nationalist

ALSO; the fact you're more worried about western society than the goings on in ur own country is very worrying, showing how blind you are to what happens in your own country

Russia has always been more autocracy than democracy, deal with it. Aristoteles used to say that democracy is a governement of poor rabble.

Pure democracy leads to chaos which is definitely not straight-forwarding. One clear vision of man who wants the best for their own nation is more the way forward. Ofc I dont support any inhumanity. I dont care about western society much, you have your own problems I see ( Today Islamic state has appealed on foreign islamists to strike again).

The headman of the country which liberated Aushwitz wasnt invited to the remembrance ceremony of 70 years since Aushwitz was set free.

One may argue that this is due to a political disagreement Poland may have with Russia, but then the event of Auschwitz should be sacred and beyond political disagreements or perhaps Polish politicians chose to play political games with an immense tragedy? ...

Not to invite Putin is  quite funny considering the growing neofascist tendencies among Ukranian rebels.

Putin's rule fits the description "neo-fascist" better than the Ukraine  govt. Nationalist Ukrainians sided with Germany in WWII because they wanted to be liberated from Stalin.

Poles hardly regard the Red Army as liberators, since it imposed Russian domination on the country.

They know Stalin and Hitler agreed to divde up the country in 1939, and the Russians comitted atrocities like the Katyn Massacre:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre
