female officers arent that hard to find are they detroit?

your biased is disturbing some times

How is it biased?

My god let's for once stop defending the insane rules dictated by fantasy stories. When one is arrested one is taken to the station and a photo is taken. Who cares if it's a man or a woman. You've broken the law now do as you're told, they're not doing anything inappropriate by taking a photo.

I also find it disturbing how some say Islam dictates that women wear the hijab while I have seen Muslim women such as the Queen of Jordan and Yasser Arafat's wife wearing nothing on their heads. These two women are an example of how Islam can have a place in modern Western society. Unfortunately, many idiots prefer to defend archaic religious stupidities instead of advocating modernisation.

Ridiculous.

Next time that police stop me I demand only male hot cops, because that is my faith.

She in USA and she has to respect their laws.

If she wanna lives with that culture she should return to her original country.

Are you assuming things? Because never in the article do they say she's an immigrant. They actually call her Arab-American. :smh: Some of you do the most.

It doesn't matter, the country remains AMERICA with its laws and culture.

It's full of people from every kind of ethnic group and religion in USA, if everyone start to demand things only because of 'their faith' the list will never ends, she should respect the laws in the country where she is, end of the story.

If she's not happy with the culture and laws in there she should return in her original country.

they should've found a female officer and left it at that.

still though, it's very sad that she was raised to believe that showing her hair and neck to men outside of her family is a bad thing. talk about objectifying the female body :/

Law is above faith

Read the last two sentences and if you still can't you can borrow my glasses. When you find a good reason why he denied her the treatment of a female officer you can bother me again.

Um, why? Something tells me you don't know how licenses work or what "suspended license" means. Also, the police can't confiscate your private property just like that :smh:

Frankly the way the laws are people should not be allowed to sue the police for following protocols that have been in place for a long time. Driving is a privilege and not a right. Just be glad I'm not a judge.

Mars..........or bust!

The fact that they didn't have to pat her down shows how it's unnecessary to provide her with a female officer.

I don't think she'll win in court. They uphold some accommodation for religion, but setting a rule that ONLY male police can take off a arrested person's hijab is too inconvenient for policing. What next, if a Muslim has a problem with an officer of the opposite s-x even touching them, do you forbid any sort of pat down?

The whole world can see her exposed hair and neck via the mugshot anyway.
