most of Gagas shocking moments (like paparazzi performance at VMAS) and when she got a tone of attention was in 2009

the beggining of her career was very defining... but after that it cooled down in terms of her influence... u cant put her at the top for 2010 and after :manicure:

Her most shocking moment was in 2010 with the meat dress, so that alone was way more influential than most of the top 3...

When you say meat dress, you think Gaga...

2010 was the biggest year of her carreer, she got 3 grammys, 8 Vmas and bunch of other awards..

So yeah she definitely belongs to the top 3, or at least top 5.... :madge:

billboard is so retarded. stanning for beyonces ass for no reason. she had only 1 top 10 hit single since idk when. the rest is all flops. even applause outsells any single in the last 5 years she put out. not talking about taylor outselling her whole discography. she doesnt sell shows, singles, or albums and she keeps being praised as if its the second arrival of massiah. sheesh calm your tits billboard

single sales or top since 2010 doesn't mean anything for real. nowadays it's all about names and figures thats projects thats names. look at nicki bieber etc. the name means way more than chart/sales number welcome to the 21st century

Eh. I love Beyonce and Kanye, but the first half of the 2010s clearly belonged to the industry's biggest winners, and they're none other than Adele for her surprise smash 21, the decade's most successful album to date, both critically and commercially, and Taylor Swift for her three consecutive million-opening albums at this day and age of poor album sales compared to the prior decades.

And how come a female rapper who was mercilessly compared to Gaga during the first years of the 2010s, both musically and image-wise, be above her on this list of artists who "defined the 2010s so far"? Not only it's beyond laughable, if not nonsensical, but also it just discredits this list from the very get-go.

I have nothing against Nicki Minaj, but I don't get why she's so high on the list (and above Gaga and Arcade Fire). I feel like she's definitely overrated by the media lately for reasons I cannot understand. I'm glad to see female rappers getting praised (that aren't Iggy), but her music isn't really that great, and she has been unable to deliver anything close to her verse on Monster on her own albums.

Taylor Swift is another one where I fail to see the media hype. Her selling that much is amazing, but I don't feel like she's changed the music landscape at all, and doesn't exactly have a unique POV. I respect her for writing her own lyrics, but the way people overhype her is crazy to me.

Overall though I think it's best to do this list at the end of the actual decade. Someone new might come along, or someone established might do something great and we won't see it coming. I feel like this list is just based on who they like right now, for example If Rihanna's new album was out I'm sure she'd be included on this list.

What have they defined in the 2010s?

Dance & EDM is throwing back to the 70's Disco days because of Daft Punk/Get Lucky and that whole RAM album. The Industry, Critics and the Grammys took notice. I believe they deserve a place on that list.

Pretty much this.

Uhhh Bey sells out almost every show she does. And her album sold 800k in 3 days. Of course none of her singles did well on radio for the Beyonce era....everyone bought the album before there were any singles. Bey said herself that she's not a singles artist.

04. Taylor Swift

05. Drake

06. Nicki Minaj

07. Lady Gaga

09. Arcade Fire

I think the list is pretty fair. If Fame and Fame Monster were to have been released after 2010 then she needs to be in the top 3.

Gaga shouldn't be in the Top 3. She really only slayed two years of the 2010s out of the 5 so far.... Her spot is fine.
