Wtf is wrong with Canada :wtf:

target is much more high class and cleaner than Walmart

Beyonce goes too target !!!

Yeah but on the Toronto news there were a--lysts talking about it... And Target made a lot of mistakes in their attempt to come to Canada

First of all, the Targets here are completely different in the products they sold, and many Canadians who knew target from the US were disapointed that they were selling the same Canadian brands you could buy anywhere else... many clothing lines werent the same as in the US targets

Secondly, there was poor management in restocking... at Walmart and other retailers they did not have empty shelves as much as Target did... Maybe in the US thats not a problem but the Targets here were trash always running out of products

And their prices just werent competitive. I frankly found stuff to be quite expensive there even taking into account better quality an organization...

Because of our higher minimum wages prices could never be as low as in the US... but still... when comparing to other retailers, they did a really poor job competing here. I dont think they took into account that in the last few years Canada has become a super competitive retail place also and if you dont offer good prices, ur not gonna get customers

I suppose so, they could have chosen to work for good Canadian companies instead of helping Yankee giants dominate our retail market :spin:

Choosing isn't always an option for some people. When a pay check is needed, the first opportunity may be working for a Target store.

were a country of only 35 million people with a sparse population with the exeption of the Toronto area, vancouver, Montreal and Calgary and maybe Edmonton

by ourselves wed never have enough competition to get a wide variety in choices and wed never have enough competition to get decent prices

u should be glad from a consumer standpoint that the Americans flood our market with their companies. Other Countries our size dont enjoy this advantage

plus they pay the same taxes either way, pay employees, stocks are internationally traded and anyone can buy them and the shareholders are from all over the place just like in Canadian companies etc... it makes no difference at the end of the day whether they are technically American on Canadian other than where the headquarters are

TRILL MONSTER

I guess the whole shopping counts as well.

In the USA, Walmart are infamous and identical with low class and strange people.

We even have a website dedicated to it.

http://www.peopleofwalmart.com

Target is far more pleasing to many middle higher class in here. :fan:

I guess none of this happening in Canada.

Michelle Obama as well.

So I am aware

it makes no difference at the end of the day whether they are technically American on Canadian other than where the headquarters are

Then why don't they name just themselves "Zellers" instead of "Target Canada"? I'm not an economist, I'm just a Canadian. Your arguments can't sway me :spin: at the end of the day, I just don't like seeing these "Target"s on the streets of my city.
