craig 680
They expanded to Canada with much hype 2 years ago. Now after losing over 5 billion dollars, they are closing all 133 locations and retreating to the US in defeat. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/missing-the-mark-5-reasons-why-target-failed-in-canad/article22459819/?click=sf_globe

Morphine Prince 109,767
Mess. But I bet trashy Walmart is still open there. I go to both stores for different things but Walmart is trash. The only reason to go is because it's quicker to find things and I'm OUT.
Kyle 345
The problem with Target up here was that it was NOTHING like Target in the states. We didn't get the same clothing lines, or many of the normal things. They bought out a store called Zellers and took over a lot of their old locations, but it was basically Zellers 2.0. I am upset that they won't be around for Christmas though because I have gotten some great tree ornaments there and they did bring up some US candy that we don't usually get. craig 680
More like Target's Elusive Chanteuse era (better a--logy as Mariah doesn't do as well outside the US). Never mind Walmart, a lot of Canadians thought they were inferior or no better than the Zellers chain they took over. Also their supply and distribution system just wasn't ready for prime time when they opened.
