I'm not an economist, I'm just a Canadian. Your arguments can't sway me at the end of the day, I just don't like seeing these "Target"s on the streets of my city. because its the same target company with the same shareholders plus Canadians had a good perception of target because of what they knew of the US... so why come to Canada and buy up a struggling retailer and keep the name? what would be the advantage of buying up a struggling retailer and keeping the same and brand? obviously they were gonna do that it makes a big different to target... when i said it makes no difference if a company is Canadian or foreign, i meant from an economical effect point of view Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

craig 680 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Share Posted January 16, 2015 Many Canadians don't embrace the one stop model, and buy their health & wellness supplies and beauty products at their favourite pharmacy, their groceries at the local Safeway or substitute, and the rest at stores like Canadian Tire etc. This a big factor, not Walmart dominance. Grocery stores are way better for food, Mark's Work Warehourse is better for men's clothes, and I buy electronics at Future Shop and CDs at HMV or used.
