Tommy Monster 846
Jewels & Drugs, Fashion!, Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE. Yeah, what a deep deep message Yeah, because having 4-5 songs on the album that are not that deep has to mean that the whole album is shallow
Brandon 457
Honestly, for me ARTPOP feels like a compilation album of leftovers from her past albums. TF/TFM/BTW :legend:

TEANUS 15,068
I honestly realized the other day that some of the songs on ARTPOP are f*cking masterpieces. I mean in Sexxx Dreams the way there's like 2 different people talking, Aura has the intro and the chorus, G.U.Y. has the intro and the acronym, ARTPOP is just......no words........Donatella's chorus and bridge, Fashion!'s breakdown, Mary Jane Holland's bridge, Gypsy's outro, Applause's chorus! The album is really AMAZING! I just wish people would look past the charts and the actual quality of the music. Jewels & Drugs, Fashion!, Sexxx Dreams, MANiCURE. Yeah, what a deep deep message Have you LISTENED to Sexxx Dreams lyrics!? The way she's singing as two different people is just AMAZING and the chorus The message (I think) explain her bis-xuality. She sleeps with men but still has fantasies about women that she can't control ;) British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

TEANUS 15,068
For the last paragraph, isn't that what Poker Face is about? She can have two songs about the same topic. F.e. BTW and Hair. Plus Sexxx Dreams is more literal about it IMO. She's literally saying she touches herself to the thought of a girl British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS
Putin 0
Yeah, because having 4-5 songs on the album that are not that deep has to mean that the whole album is shallow and which songs are exactly deep (and much deeper compared to TFM) ?

djBuffoon 12,120
Oh God this forum... Mess. For the last paragraph, isn't that what Poker Face is about?I think the way "Sexxx Dreams" is constructed is much more clever, in a way that doesn't call attention to itself. It's two completely separate dialogues running parallel to each other, sometimes spoken, sometimes sung. Pretty damn cool.
Tommy Monster 846
and which songs are exactly deep (and much deeper compared to TFM) ? Aura, Venus, G.U.Y, DWYW, ARTPOP, Swine, MJH, Dope, Gypsy, Applause... basically all of those that were not mentioned Try to think about it a little and don´t just hate on it cause it underperformed... I´m not saying it´s deeper than TFM (even thou Aura, ARTPOP, Swine, MJH, Dope and Gypsy are), why compare it??? these two albums are her best for me, but they are so different that comparing them is not even possible (and btw, what deep message does Telephone have??? ) TFM is about fears, ARTPOP is about finding a harmony with yourself and the world and getting rid of your insecurity, quite uncomparable too Aura is about hiding your true self, Venus, as Gaga said, about looking for love at different places, basically about trying new things, G.U.Y- being secure, not in need of control, JnD is kinda about family btw, DWYW about being confident no matter what others think, ARTPOP- finding a harmony between you and the world, showing your real you, not selling yourself, Swine- I think Gags told much about it, rape, people that want to hurt you, letting anger out, even Donatella has some meaning in being secure with who you are and it´s all wrapped in a The Fameesque irony style, MJH- not being able to deal with who you are so you are rather someone else, Dope- doesn´t need an explanation, saying sorry, Gypsy- your home is where your heart is... This album IS deep, f*cking deep, as Gaga said today, it´s a creative soul escaping a cage, it´s about being free, it carries the BTW message better than BTW cause it´s not so literal tbh

My Little Phoney 658
I do think a lot of (immature) fans over-praise The Fame Monster because of its commercial success. Wow Nicki preach it I prefer ARTPOP too but it's a matter of taste
