There were at least 12 accidents before school started. Edit: All schools are operating on a two hour delay tomorrow. Edit 2: 142 accidents in total. Majority were High-schoolers. xoxo cupcakke 4,781
Is it bad that in my town, no one really minds the snow when going to school. Like we've had times where there was a foot of snow and we still went and no one seemed to care. Although, with a new superintendent, things have changed and now they just cancel if the school in the next town over cancels, which is dumb because there are times when we could definitely go to school but no. We have to be classy like the school in the next town over

We have to be classy like the school in the next town over I think it was mainly a problem here because snow of this amount is scarce in this area. Funny thing, we have 13 snow days in the calender and the school board didn't use ONE.
xoxo cupcakke 4,781
I think it was mainly a problem here because snow of this amount is scarce in this area. Funny thing, we have 13 snow days in the calender and the school board didn't use ONE. My Gosh. That sucks. What made me really made was when last year, this time of the month and December, we had almost a month of snow days and it's strange that in my area there is as much snow as there is because when first moving here, I didn't expect it to snow due to its latitude but, anyway, we used all our snow days except one and so, by state law, if we had gone 20 school days with snow days, we would not have to make up those days but we had 18 or 19 and so we had to go three extra weeks of school to make them up. Ugh. The red tape at my school though I hope you're safe and Virginia can recover from this and I hope to God you won't have to spend three weeks more in school or anyone else for that matter. That majorly sucks

Batwings 12,957
My school is weird about closings. There have been times where they shut down, and absolutely nothing happened except a small drizzle, and then on other days, they refused to shut down in the middle of huge storms. It's better to be safe and just close down, imho.

TheOriginalOne 11,566
I know it happens a lot every year, but it's still weird to think schools close because of snow! I've never even seen actual snow irl before.
