Bad Monster Kid 13,140
I think that a smash for the next album will only make it worse. 'Eventhough her last album, which was universally deemed a flop and harshly criticized for its outdatedness and lack of hit singles, sold 250k, G5 has already sold 1.5 million pre-orders on Amazon* MP3 alone. * For BTW, Gaga had a 0.99$ deal. Just so you know.' I don't think it will make it worse. It will just prolong the word into the next era. Id till rather have a smash than two underperforming eras. shaneybaby 450
She'll be coming off of the ARTPOP era For that to happen, the song would have to be really good and she should have an iconic music video. Why does that seem like an impossible task for her ARTPOP isnt the "flop" people make it out to be. It didnt sell like her other albums but it def was a successful album. I am sure Beyonce sold less albums on some of her less popular albums, and look at Beyonce right now. I dont think it will be an issue ;)

XoXoJoanneGaga 629
I love how a 2+ Million copies sold #1 Album is a 'flop'. It said it was deemed a flop by critics, as in the quality was subpar. Pop fans are the only people in the world who judge the success of an album purely based on sales. Yes ARTPOP had disappointing sales but that's not why critics didn't like it (they wrote their reviews before the numbers were even in). ARTPOP was a disappointment on all fronts. Klou 2,414
The flop thing is so annoying. ARTPOP sells over 750K and is called a flop while Ariana and Iggy barely selling 500K and are deemed a huge success.

Yeah, I'm sure most of these critics came across an album called ARTPOP and judged it fairly, with no bias or preconceived notions. :koons: The number of albums, films, novels, etc., that critically/finally underperformed, only to later be appreciated, is staggering. I'm pretty confident that ARTPOP will among them.
Cheezr 37
I dont think they realize that by them saying ARTPOP was a flop pver and over, she will come back and make them look like hypocrites. By that I mean if she comes back with a "good" album, they will all be licking her ass again.

somnambulist 1,526
What have they worked on that is telling me this is gonna be a "hit" collaboration? No offense, but I don't know who they are... Nile Rodgers is a HUGE producer. Madonna's Like a Virgin album? Yup thats him. Basically most of the funky hits were produced by him too. Diane Warren- I won't even bother typing out a list of her songwriting credits because its VERY long, but you've heard many many of her songs. Celine Dion Because you loved me, Leann Rimes Cant Fight the Moonlight and How Do I Live, Brandy Have you ever, Aerosmith I dont wanna miss a thing, You were loved Whitney Houston, Unbreak my Heart Toni Braxton, etc. etc.
