I think that a smash for the next album will only make it worse.

For that to happen, the song would have to be really good and she should have an iconic music video.

 

Why does that seem like an impossible task for her

ARTPOP isnt the "flop" people make it out to be. It didnt sell like her other albums but it def was a successful album. I am sure  Beyonce sold less albums on some of her less popular albums, and look at Beyonce right now. I dont think it will be an issue ;)

It said it was deemed a flop by critics, as in the quality was subpar. Pop fans are the only people in the world who judge the success of an album purely based on sales. Yes ARTPOP had disappointing sales but that's not why critics didn't like it (they wrote their reviews before the numbers were even in). ARTPOP was a disappointment on all fronts.

Madonna's Like a Virgin album? Yup thats him. Basically most of the funky hits were produced by him too.

 

Diane Warren- I won't even bother typing out a list of her songwriting credits because its VERY long, but you've heard many many of her songs.

 

Celine Dion Because you loved me, Leann Rimes Cant Fight the Moonlight and How Do I Live, Brandy Have you ever, Aerosmith I dont wanna miss a thing, You were loved Whitney Houston, Unbreak my Heart Toni Braxton, etc. etc.
