Morphine Prince 109,768
Two NYPD officers have been shot in the Bronx, police say. It's not clear what led to the shooting on East 184th Street in the Fordham section shortly after 10:30 p.m. The officers were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and are expected to be OK, the NYPD said.A law enforcement source said it appears one officer was shot in the back and the other shot in the arm.The shooter or shooters are being sought. The shootings happened just hours after the mayor and the police commissioner held a joint news conference to tout record low crime levels, with overall crime down 4 percent from last year. But shootings were up 13 percent, which NYPD officials admitted were "an area of concern." boobtank 9,090
I'm so glad I don't live in the US, I would never feel safe with the lack of gun control over there, jesus.
Prometheus 1,494
I'm so glad I don't live in the US, I would never feel safe with the lack of gun control over there, jesus. This stuff really only happens in large cities. I live 20 minutes outside of a college town and not even the college town has gun problems. Of course there can be out of the norm stuff, but generally it's about location. Also, criminals will get ahold of guns however they want. It's not like they follow the law. :laughga:

I mean we have 330 million people. It's a fallacy when countries show off low firearm crime rates because they're significantly smaller

I live in a busy town with a decent amount of people. Many people hunt around here and there is NEVER shootings of any kind. Now if you live in a bad city well yeah you wouldn't feel safe no matter what. Guns or not. hop on that **** like a maniac
Redstreak 6,653
Apparently the cops were responding to a robbery call. Could be someone from the robbery who attacked them. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
boobtank 9,090
I wouldn't feel comfortable in a country where I know people can legally go and buy a gun if they wanted to. Bye.

aaronyoji 2,064
can we please not relate this to the injustice of white on black crime? particularly said innocents of black people innocently dying at the hands of cops? cops put their lives on the line for this very reason, if this ends up being a regular case about robberies and everyday crime lets not use this as an opposition to the race/police brutality debate, this seems to have no correlation.
