People here have formed opinions based on nothing but hearsay from a small sample of people that were pissed at him for various reasons.  And who's to say he hasn't changed? Clearly in private he and Gaga have some connection.

The fact is every time Marc is mentioned on GGD people get up in arms about it, the jealousy is palpable.  It's rude and immature.  And if he has occasionally acted a bit above others in the past for his friendship with Gaga, well, it's not much different than people here bragging because she followed them on twitter.  And he seems to have mellowed out on that, perhaps Gaga talked to him about it.  Or maybe he just grew up.

You patronizing the fanbase through generalizations and denouncement in accordance with your "Gaga fan superiority complex" has gotten really tiring over the years so I don't want to hear a single word from you about how fans don't have to go through a "friend approval process". Half of your threads consist of you subtly bragging about how you truly understand or appreciate what "other monsters don't seem to" because you seem to deem yourself a true fan. You use your supposed innocence in these matters as well as your intellectuality to cover it up and nobody calls you out on it because by all technicalities you may not have "done anything wrong", perhaps the contrary for those who see it as you just being the "light for Gaga fans when everyone is so perpetually negative" but your attitude has a way of indirectly demeaning people whether you intentionally do that to feed your ego or it just so happens to be an incidental occurrence. You, of all people, should have anything you say regarding pompous monsters taken with a grain of salt, because look where it's coming from.

If they were actually real life close friends would he still have to have his parents or whoever pay for the $1500 meet and greet? :hor:

I don't really know much about him, but judging by the few stories I have heard, he is apparently very rude to other fans outside concerts in lines, people waiting to meet her outside her apartment/hotels etc. Just because you come from a rich family and can afford to travel everywhere and meet her all the time doesn't make you any better than anyone else. That's what I don't like. If he was a genuinely nice guy then I wouldn't have much of a problem.

Would I want to be able to meet her all the time and see dozens of her performances live, of course! but unfortunately i can barely afford to see her once every two years, and can only dream of meeting her. Some people never get the chance to see her live at all so I'm grateful for what I get.

There's a difference between a dedicated fan and a rich fan. :thetea:

He seems like the type of person who would push other people out of the way who have never met her just to get his 200th photo with her.

Wait: so he still pays for m&g's even though they are friends?

If they truly are friends, then I'm happy for him. If he is just stalking her, then please go away and let the girl have a nice New Years' Eve with her boyfriend and close friends.

Not really aware of his situation, but unless personally invited by Gaga herself, I'd be pretty annoyed by being followed by the same person everywhere I go.

Mess. Giskardsb's criticism of some fans does not go unfounded and it is not generalized. He doesn't just spew it towards everyone. It's clearly directed at fans that overcrowd this site and herald their resentment towards the C2C era like a badge of honor. Don't like the C2C era? We saw it the first time. We don't need particular fans repeating it in every C2C-related thread for 4-5 months straight. It is a matter of maturity and common sense that is consistently lacking and he's not the only one who's feels that way, so I'm not sure why this is coming off as though he's some sort of black sheep.

And it's the same lack of maturity and common sense that is so frustrating when it comes to the subject of MarcMonster and would-be "hierarchy" that some fans make up. It's not real. The people who view it that way are victimizing themselves. Yes, he has a lot of spare time and money to see Gaga a lot. It makes him happy and apparently it makes her happy too. His ability to see Gaga a lot is nobody's business, but theirs. The childish envy regarding their friendship is real. It is completely different and unrelated to Giskardsb's criticism of fan immaturity and, sorry to break it to you, but there's no 'pot calling the kettle black' situation here. There is simply no connection between the two.

I doubt he would have been able to be so close to her if not personally invited by her and they wouldn't have taken a group picture like that. Her security always pushes fans away even at the m&g so I'm guessing it's pretty obvious Gaga wants him there..if I was friends with Gaga the first then I'd do would be to disappear from Twitter to not make everyone jealous and receive all the hate but that's really his business..

This is not just about what he said regarding the C2C era and the way he is has been noted by several individuals. It is not an isolated incident, it is quite a few.

You clearly don't know people who have been personally victimized by MarcMonster by way of his numerical categorization of monsters in line for her tours to prevent people from cutting in line despite the fact he cuts in front of them. Numerous sightings and reportings have been said of this. The things he has said on Twitter still remain relevant. Why should we assume he has changed, just because he hasn't spoken out for a little while? Really?

Even giving the benefit of the doubt that Giskardsb isn't making generalizations (even though it has never been specified he is targeting a specific group of monsters), why must he so often critique people? Why must he feel the need to imply that he is above them in knowledge, sophistication, and even fan status? Yes, many fans don't like C2C and are annoying about it, but what is the need for him to call people out on it? Are these broad amounts of people he's referring to going to have a change of heart about the album because he says so? Isn't this simply adding to the negativity that he so valiantly and enthusiastically attempts to stem? There's something so self-righteous, concrete, unchangeable and unapproachable about him that gives off all kinds of bad vibes, and I feel this way because I highly doubt he believes any differing of opinion to be equal to his level. What he says, to him, is the way it is, and by subtly guilting and demeaning people it gives the impression that anyone's opposing thoughts are devalued simply by his demeanor. I don't like it.

 I don't like it.

Well that much is obvious ;)

Yes, I can come across as arrogant and a bit of a know it all.   This is not new in my life, believe me.  I can apologize for it and try to tone it down but that doesn't seem to work particularly well all the time.  You should see some of the posts I hide before too many people see them.

I get that sometimes I end up contributing to a negative environment by trying to counteract it.   The mood of many on the board during the C2C era has made me more reactionary than I'd like.

As far as Marc Monster, whatever his faults, it's all amplified by people implicitly agreeing to vilify the guy on social media.  There is no reason to condone people dragging him to the pits every time he's seen with Gaga, even if at some level it maybe was "deserved."

Seems weird to hang out with a fan. The idea of it sounds nice in theory, but I feel like friends are usually on equal footing and you can't have that dynamic when one party kind of worships and/or is obsessed with the other.
