Airbus admits they may have misjudged the prospects for selling the massive double decker model and has had a hard time selling enough to airlines just to break even for that particular model

 

they have a few orders they have to complete until 2017 but after that it may be discontinued because demand isnt enough to justify the program when it could focus more on models that do have more demand

I don't like their vision of "luxury"... sure, it's spacious and has movie screens... but even small planes were so much more luxurious in the 1920s and 1930s.

 

They should have made it an actual "first class"... it's large and powerful enough.

That would be quite heavy :P planes are designed to be as light as possible, which is why they sometimes have really ugly interiors. Cheap, light plastic would weigh a LOT less than all the stuff in that pic :P

They misjudged demand it seems. But i'm pretty sure it'll be in production for a few years to come

they carry a huge number of ppl. there arent many flight routes that will carry that many pasngrs per date all year round so its only worth it for a few airlines with heavy demand for specific flight paths

 

even if they make some profit off of it, it seems lie they are making more profit with other models so i guess they wanna focus on those rather than barely breaking even with this one

well the ones already in existance will be maintained for their entired lifespan (roughly 20 years) so ull still see them for a while

I can see why. The plane is just too damn big to be efficient. It's expensive, most routes are far from sold out and it's not compatible with many runways. They're going to focus more on the A350 XWB (already at almost 800 orders, deliveries starting 2015) which will going to be the direct competitor to the already successful 787 Dreamliner and also the 777. Airbus was just way too late with the A380. 

 

Also change the first class pics in the OP, those are disgusting. Use something from the Emirates or the Singapore first class cabins.
